Los Angeles, CA gets smacked with a 4.4 earthquake today. According to ABC news , the city of Los Angeles, California got smacked with a 4.4 magnitude earthquake earlier today,and it has residents fearing something worse will happen. They say the earthquake shook Los Angeles, California,but caused little damage. However, the residents are fearing a massive disaster like the ones recently seen in Haiti and Chile.

The earthquake happened in the pre-dawn hours,startling residents in their sleep. The earthquake centered about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles,and struck shortly after 4am, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered about one mile from Pico Rivera, California,and about 11 miles from the Los Angeles Civic Center. Andre Gougis who is the Los Angeles County Fire Department supervisor said that the agency is surveying the area,but no immediate reports of damage have been reported.
