Top movie critics gave Miley Cyrus’ ‘The Last Song’ movie poor reviews. Touchstone Pictures released their new Miley Cyrus flick entitled, “The Last Song” into theaters today, and the top movie critics in the business, for the most part, didn’t like it,and gave it some pretty poor reviews. However, there were a couple who thought it was good, and gave it a couple B ratings. The movie stars: Miley Cyrus, Bobby Coleman, Liam Hemsworth, Hallock Beals, Nick Lashaway, Carly Chaikin, Nick Searcy, Kate Vernon, Kelly Preston, and Greg Kinnear.

Wesley Morris from the Boston Globe gave it a C rating. He said, it was “A more convincing star could make this a degree more tolerable, although in Cyrus’s defense not much more.” Roger Ebert over at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a B-. He stated, “I like Miley Cyrus. I like her in spite of the fact that she’s been packaged within an inch of her life.”

Matt Pais at the Chicago Tribune gave it a poor D+. He said, “Miley Cyrus must be stopped.” Leslie Gornstein from E! online gave it a C-. She said, “this by-the-numbers romantic weeper feels more like a manipulative vehicle than a risk.”

Lisa Schwarzbaum from “Entertainment Weekly” gave it a B rating. He said, “Miley Cyrus is a really interesting movie star in the making.” Sean O’Connell at Filmcritic.com gave it a C-. He stated, “The Last Song will be remembered — if it’s remembered at all — as the film that launched pop icon Miley Cyrus’ bid for acting credibility.”

Kirk Honeycutt at the Hollywood Reporter gave it a good B rating. He said, “The movie so deftly mixes sentimentality, romance and bathos in just the right measures that her fans and maybe new ones will enjoy the new Miley.”

Lou Lumenick from the New York Post gave it a really bad F rating, stating, “Displaying approximately 1½ expressions, the teenage Cyrus pouts her way through a fire, a wedding and a funeral.”

A.O. Scott from the New York Times gave it a bad D. He said, it was “a movie that is as stuffed with bogus feeling and overwrought incident as a fast-food burrito.” Peter Travers at Rolling Stone gave it another really bad F rating. He said, it was “so bad it makes The Notebook look like Casablanca.

Mick LaSalle at the San Francisco Chronicle gave it a D. He said, “Because the bottom line here is that Cyrus is ghastly in The Last Song, bad not just in one or two ways, but in all kinds of ways.”

USA Today’s Claudia Puig gave it a C. She stated, “The overbearing sentimentality is leavened by Kinnear’s grounded performance.” “The Last Song” movie is in theaters now. You can read more movie reviews at Yahoo! movies by Clicking Here.

  • Jonathan L:

I think it’s unfair that the critics are giving such poor reviews, especially since they seem to be about Miley. Just because one person wasn’t the best doesn’t mean the whole movie sucked. I think they’re being immature and looking just at how much negative publicity Miley’s been getting. They need to grow up and start becoming true critics. Miley was amazing, and the movie was great. I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.

  • I agree with jonathan l, they are just going miley and trying to ruine her career. Well, i don’t like that and i’m a huge fan of her and i loved the last song!

  • truth:

the think the critics where right well most of them ,
miley didn’t do a great job. like one critic said “she pouted her way throw the wedding, and funural” she didn’t really show emotion but on the other hand it was worth the shot but i think nicholas should have gave it some thought on to who he wanted to play ronnie before he cast miley cuz well the truth is she really isn’t that good. at singing or acting, but on the other hand im not going to let miley ruin the movie for me cuz i love all nicholas sparks movies, and i love this one, besides the fact of miley playing ronnie

  • Hey miley you is i love you and bobbie-lee 0423743272
