Top critics gave new Takers movie pretty mixed reviews. Screen Gems released their new action flick “Takers” into theaters today, and the top movie critics seemed to be pretty mixed on it. They gave it Bs,Cs,and D ratings, but it seemed pretty even, indicating that it came down to personal taste. The movie stars: Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Jay Hernandez, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Michael Ealy, Chris Brown, and Hayden Christensen.

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a C-. He said, “Takers might have made a perfectly decent little B heist movie, but someone had to go and forget to give the cameraman his Ritalin.”

Adam Markovitz at Entertainment Weekly gave it a C-. He stated, “our merry band of robbers look like they spend more time laying out their hep-cat outfits than they do plotting their next charmingly retro, money stuffed in a duffle heist.”

Stephen Farber at Hollywood Reporter gave it a B-. He said, “Strong cast and solid script are undermined by hyperactive direction.” Betsy Sharkey at the Los Angeles Times gave it a D. She stated, “would be a good snooze if it weren’t for all the noisy gunfire and explosions and the violins.”

Claudia Puig over at USA Today gave it a D+. She said, “The dialogue is clichéd and laughable. It’s a film far more concerned with style, architectural, vehicular and wardrobe-related than substance.”

James Berardinelli at Reelviews gave it B. He said, “The style feels a little like that of the recently departed TV show 24, albeit without Kiefer Sutherland, the split screens, and the ticking clock.”

Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune gave it a B-. He said, “Noisy, unsubtle, but it gets the job done.” Lou Lumenick at the New York Times gave it another B-. He said, “You could make a worse choice for a late- summer popcorn movie than Takers, a Michael Mann-ish heist thriller with a pulse-pounding foot chase and some terrific stunt work offsetting its hackneyed plot and dialogue.”

A.O. Scott at the New York Times gave it a C-. He said, “There is plenty of nonsense, a great deal of stylish posturing and clothes-horsing, and a few action sequences that manage to be both gripping and preposterous.”

Amy Biancolli at the San Francisco Chronicle gave it a C-. She stated, “After sitting through Takers with my stomach rearranged by hyperactive camera spazzing, I hereby formally request all directors and cinematographers to just get a grip already and STOP. WIGGLING. THE CAMERA.” “Takers” movie is in theaters now. Get your “Takers” movie tickets at Fandango by Clicking Here. You can read more movie reviews at Metacritic.

I’ve just seen Takers starring Chris Brown and TI and it was the most exciting thrilling movie I’ve Seen this year. Taker gets 1O stars for the well worth money I have spent on a movie. The whole audience was cheering the movie for Chris Brown performance. I caught the thrid showing because the other two showing were sold out. I recommend this movie.Brooklyn. NY Parkslope.
