New ‘Sucker Punch’ movie delivered cool action, but very weird plot. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new action/fantasy/drama flick “Sucker Punch” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was really good. It delivered some really awesome action scenes.

However, their plot wasn’t for the simple-minded as it featured multiple levels of weirdness, especially towards the end. I will say one thing, though,it was very unique. It stars: Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Oscar Isaac, and Scott Glenn.

“Sucker Punch” revolved around character Baby Doll (Emily Browning) who’s been locked away in an asylum of some sort, but this movie doesn’t show much asylum footage because it quickly takes us into the imaginary world of Baby Doll’s mind, which featured not one,but two different imaginary tales.

The first one has Baby Doll in some sort of gentlemen’s club where she and other girls are forced to dance for and entertain men against their will. Baby Doll was frightened when she first arrived there, but eventually met four new female friends named Sweat Pea,Rocket,Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens),and Amber.

As the story moved along, Baby Doll is asked to dance in order to stay there. However, she’s very shy. In order to escape her shyness, she goes into an imaginary world where she’s like a warrior goddess and defeats dragons, big warrior robots, and all kinds of other weird stuff. After she comes back out of that imaginary state, she has apparently done a brilliant dance that everyone loves.

She eventually comes up with a plan of escape with her four new friends that involve retrieving four special items. She reveals that she’ll use her newly acquired dancing skills to help the girls retrieve the items. She continuously keeps going in and out of her imaginary warrior goddess world, and also brings her friends into it with her. The warrior world was really cool. It showed the girls taking out thousands of soldiers, fighting, blowing up stuff, and just a lot of other cool action scenes. It was very entertaining.

Things got bumpy after they retrieved the first two items. So bumpy,in fact, that it led to a couple of deaths and one very weird ending. I’ll just say that Baby Doll was completely out of it at the end. Despite the very weird plotline, I thought the movie was cool to watch, especially the action scenes. I sort of wished the movie had just been about the action because the scenes were really fun to watch.

Vanessa Hudgens did some cool scenes that could have you thinking she could be an action-film star. Actually, all the girls did,but Vanessa is one of the more notable actresses of the bunch, plus this one was a long way away from “High School Musical.” Well, anyways, I gave the movie an A grade for sheer entertainment. “Sucker Punch” is in theaters now.
