Dallas Mavericks Won Game 2 Against Miami With 14 Point Comeback
Dallas Mavericks won Game 2 against Miami with 14 point comeback. I just got done watching the Dallas Mavericks vs. the Miami Heat Game 2 of the NBA Finals, and it was an amazing comeback for the Mavericks as they were down by as much as 14 or 15 points during the 4th quarter with about 7 minutes to go.
The Mavs played fairly well during the 1st and 2nd quarters. They even went up by 8 or 9 points in the first half, but then the Heat started to turn it up in the 3rd quarter, leading into the 4th quarter. However, the Mavs were still within 4 points to close out the 3rd quarter after having to chop down an 8 point lead the Heat had established.
The Mavs started the 4th quarter horribly, and it really looked like they were going to lose game 2 by giving up a ton of turnovers, and going completely dry on offense. Miami turned up their offense, mostly with the plays from Dwyane Wade, and a lot of break-away transition points. However, finally, after about the 7 or 6 minute mark, Dallas was able to start knocking down a couple of buckets, and get more defensive stops. The Heat also started shooting terrible shots from the field.
Eventually, the Mavs tied it up with under a minute to go in the 4th quarter. Then Dirk Nowitzki knocked down a massive three pointer to put them up by three with 26 seconds to go. Then Miami made a big half court play to knock down a three pointer to tie the game . Finally, the Mavs got the last possession with about 24 seconds left in the game.
Jason Kidd let the clock run down until about 14 or 16 seconds. Then started to move the ball. It finally ended up in Dirk’s hands. He did a nice little spin move, and drive to the basket to lay it in with just three seconds left. Dwyane Wade tried to push the ball down the court fast for a desperation three pointer, which was too strong,so the Mavs pulled it out with a great 14 point comeback and score of 95-93. The series is now tied 1-1 with the Mavs taking it back to Dallas for game 3.
