Relativity Media released their new horror flick “Shark Night” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and thought it was pretty good. It delivered a descent plot with lots of suspense towards the end.

It hurt a little bit in the originality department, but it was still entertaining. The movie stars: Sara Paxton, Dustin Milligan, Katharine McPhee, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz, Joel David Moore, Donal Logue, Sinqua Walls, and Chris Zylka.

The movie’s synopsis was pretty typical. A group of seven friend decided to head to the lake for some partying and fun times. However, little did they know, that character Sara (Sara Paxton) had some bad history with the town. One person in particular was a guy named Dennis.

Anyhow, things went fine until the kids decided to hit the water for some water skiing fun,and it ended with someone’s arm getting bit off,and everyone wondering, what the hell’s going on. They eventually get Dennis and another weird dude to help them out by supposedly going to get help. Unfortunately, their help would eventually prove to be not the kind of help they were looking for.

A crazy twist that occurs during the middle of the flick, leads to wild conclusion that leaves two of the seven friends fighting for their lives from crazy locals trying to make money off shark attack footage, including a loon who wants revenge on Sara.

The movie was very suspenseful with plenty of graphic shark attacks, fighting, and screaming. Former American Idol starlet Katharine McPhee appeared in this film as character Beth, and boy did she have some talents. Talents for looking good. Her body was smokin. I definitely have a newfound respect for Katharine McPhee. She could ditch the acting/singing for bikini modeling any day.

Also, Sara Paxton has grown up quite nicely. Basically, there was lots of female eye candy in this movie. It’s just too bad it got eaten by sharks. I never got bored with the movie, and I found it to be interesting throughout. The plot wasn’t the most original, but it was well throughout, and gave the movie some direction, instead of it being just one big shark attack movie.I gave it a B- grade.
