New Matt Damon ‘Contagion’ movie delivered lots of drama & interesting story

Warner Bros. Pictures released their new Matt Damon,branded,drama/thriller flick “Contagion” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and I thought it was pretty good. The plot was interesting enough to hold my attention throughout. The movie stars: Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston, Sanaa Lathan, and Jennifer Ehle.

In the movie, character Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow) returned home to her husband and kid Mitch Emhoff (Matt Damon) after taking a trip to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, she brought a virus back home with her that ended up killing her,and causing an epidemic of mass proportions.

Once the virus became known, the government started scrambling to find a vaccine, and not reveal too much to the public in an effort to avoid a nationwide panic. The virus quickly spread, ultimately killing millions of people. The movie was very interesting as it showed how the specialist went about discovering the origin of the virus. Then growing it,so they could test it,and find a way to develop the vaccine.

During the process, some naughty, affair secrets were discovered about Beth since she made a pit stop to see her lover, which caused the virus to spread well passed her family. The movie played out with them eventually creating a vaccine, but revealed an interesting little twist before the closing credits.

I thought the movie was pretty interesting to watch as it delivered a different take on the outbreak genre type movies by showing more of the deep, inside details of how the government cleaned up the mess. It also had an all-star line-up of talent, which definitely didn’t hurt. I gave the movie a solid B grade.Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
