New ‘Step Up Revolution’ movie delivered cool dancing action, drama & more. Summit Entertainment released their new dance/drama flick “Step Up Revolution” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and thought it was very entertaining, especially the dance numbers. They served up a lot of good beats and choreography. It stars: Ryan Guzman, Kathryn McCormick, Misha Gabriel, and Peter Gallagher.

In the new flick, character Emily Anderson struggles with her wealthy father, trying to convince him that she wants to be a professional dancer. He gives her an ultimatum that if she doesn’t land her next dance gig,she has to come work for his company. Character Sean tries to help her out with her dancing, and eventually introduces her to his crew, which is called “The Mob.”

At first, “The Mob” are competing to be winners of a huge Youtube contest by getting the most hits, but it eventually turns into something more when their neighborhood is threatened with being torn down by Emily’s father so he can build more hotels.

From there, some major drama goes down when the crew eventually learns that Emily is actually the daughter of the man who’s ripping their neighborhood apart. It causes separation in the group, and all hope looks lost, leading to a huge conclusion that involves the crew getting back together for a big, entertaining dance display along with Emily showing her father that dance is what she should be doing.

Again, the movie was very entertaining. The plot wasn’t all that original, but I didn’t really expect it to be. They mostly crank these movies out for the dance entertainment, and then throw in a plotline so they can call it a movie. But anyways, I gave it a solid B grade for good entertainment.
