Game Of Thrones season 3 getting longer episodes and hour plus finale episode. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, we’re set to see longer episodes for “Game Of Thrones” upcoming season 3 when it starts back up this spring 2013. There’s still only going to be 10 episodes, but they’re going to be giving fans extra minutes each week.
Producer Dan Weiss told them, “There’s almost another full episode’s worth of extra minutes spread across the season. One of the great liberties with HBO is we’re not forced to come in at a specific time. We can’t be under 50 minutes or over 60, but that gives us a lot of flexibility.”
The other producer David Benioff said, “A super-sized season, as befitting Storm of Swords,” Benioff adds. “Last year we had a lot of 52-minute episodes. This year is a lot of 56, 57.” In addition to that, they report that the season finale episode is going to possibly run over an hour long. HBO recently released a statement with says, “All 10 episodes gained a minute or two from past seasons with the finale very possibly exceeding 60 minutes.” Season 3 is scheduled to debut on March 31st,2013.
