New ‘The Last Stand’ movie delivered great action, lots of violence, drama & more. Lionsgate released their new mega action flick “The Last Stand” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it and thought it was highly entertaining as Arnold Schwarzenegger was back in major action to take down a violent criminal that escaped from prison, and was trying to cross the Mexican border.

The movie stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander, Luis Guzmán, Eduardo Noriega, Peter Stormare, Zach Gilford, Genesis Rodriguez, Daniel Henney, and John Patrick Amedori.

In the new movie, after leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) ,moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life ,fighting what little crime takes place in a sleepy border town called, Sommerton Junction.

However, this peaceful existence ,ends up getting majorly shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.

From there, Cortez uses a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare) to begin racing towards the US/Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a supposed, sexy, hostage in tow. U.S. law enforcement, including Agent John Bannister (Forest Whitaker) ,patch in a call to Sheriff Ray to warn him that Gabriel is going to try to head through Sommerton to get through to the Mexican border, and is ordered to block it off with all of his patrol cars and men.

Unfortunately, one of Ray’s men gets shot and killed by the crazy mercenaries while trying to block them off, prompting Ray to go back to his LAPD Narcotics cop mode ,and take all these creeps down, along with Gabriel.

From there, the movie served up a ton of action and gun fights after Ray set up a barricade to stop the mercenaries and Gabriel from crossing to the border through Sommerton. This set up a huge action-filled conclusion, involving Ray and Gabriel having a major car chase and fighting showdown right at the border bridge. It was wicked.

Again, I enjoyed watching this flick as it served up a ton of action from beginning to end,and old ass Arnold Schwarzenegger ,surprisingly delivered a ton of action with his character as if he was in his 20s or 30s. It was pretty wild. And Thor star Jaimie Alexander showed some nice eye candy with her sexy self. I gave the movie a solid B+ grade. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
