Amazing Race 23 Jason Case & Amy Diaz won the entire show in finale episode tonight. Tonight’s 2 hour finale episode, kicked off with the teams, learning they had to head to Tokyo to get their first clue for this leg of the race. Once they retrieved it, they were directed to their detours: “Knock it Down” or “Call It Up.”
In the “Knock It Down” detour, they had to become a human bowling ball and knock down bowling pins, via a slider tube to get their next clue. In the “Call it up” detour, one team member had to take a call in a public telephone booth filled with water,and then relay the message they heard to their partner to get their next clue.
After the detours, the teams had to go to another area of the city to get their next clue. Leo & Jamal had to face a Speed Bump challenge for finishing last in the last leg of the race. It required them to capture an escaped,fake Rhino from a local zoo to get back in the regular race.
Meanwhile, the rest of the teams started on their Road Block challenge, which required them to correctly build a dummy robot to get their next clue. After that, they had to find a roaming vending machine in another area of the city to get their next clue. Once they got it, they were directed to make their way, on foot, to the pit stop for this leg of the race.
Tim & Marie arrived in first place ,and won a trip for two to Aruba from Travelocity. Jason & Amy arrived in 2nd place , Nicole & Travis arrived in 3rd place, and Leo & Jamal showed up dead last due to getting too stumped with the robot building challenge. So, they were ousted.
Then they immediately showed the finale episode where the final teams,Tim & Marie, Jason & Amy, and Nicole & Travis found out they had to fly to Juneau, Alaska to get their first clue for this leg of the race. Once they got the clue, they hit a Road Block challenge. In it, they had to simulate a supply drop by dropping a bag of flour from a flying plane in the right spot.
After successfully completing that, the teams had to do some Alaskan ice-hiking and chop their next clue out of the ice. Once they completed that, they had to jump in a kayak and sail to the marked island to get their next clue. Once they retrieved it, they had to head to Blue Berries Trailhead back in Juneau,Alaska to get their next clue.
Once they got it, they had to build a couple of totem poles that spelled the name of all the currencies they had to use during the entire season to get their final clue for this leg of the race. Once they got it, they were directed to head for the pit stop for the $1 million dollar grand prize!
And Jason & Amy showed up in first place for the $1 million dollar win! Tim & Marie arrived in 2nd place, and Travis & Nicole came in dead last. So, congrats to Jason and Amy.
