As previously reported, Mark Harmon also recently closed a new deal to return for season 16 both as a star on the show and as a producer. That happened towards the end of April 2018 when CBS also renewed the show for a 16th season. At the time, the President of CBS Entertainment Kelly Kahl made a very positive statement about NCIS and Mark Harmon. She said, “It’s pretty simple. Viewers everywhere love NCIS. This show speaks to viewers of all ages in all parts of the country and around the world.

NCIS‘ amazing characters and terrific storytelling result in some of TV’s most passionate fans. Of course, none of this would be possible without an outstanding production team, and talented cast led by the incomparable and absolutely tireless Mark Harmon. We’re thrilled he is returning as the centerpiece of the show, and we could not be more excited for NCIS 16th season.”

Deadline.com did point out that Mark Harmon and David McCallum are now the only remaining original castmembers. Abby Sciuto star Pauley Perrette made her exit at the end of this recent 15th season. Deadline.com said that all the rest of the NCIS castmembers are expected to return for season 16.

However, the season 15 finale episode did leave us wondering what the future of season regular Leon Vance looks like. His life was put in major jeopardy during the cliffhanger they left us with. His portrayer Rocky Carroll recently tweeted out, “Finally got a chance to read your messages. Thanks for the kind words. Keep your fingers crossed for Vance!”You guys can view that tweet on Rocky’s official Twitter account by Clicking Here.

Currently, there’s no announcements about whether Leon will live or die. He’s at least expected to show up in the season 16 premiere episode to give us a conclusion to his major cliffhanger plotline. Leon has currently been apart of the show for 10 years, starting way back in season 5.

Currently, we’re still waiting on a premiere date for season 16. It’s not expected to get announced until later on maybe towards the end of June or early July 2018. We’re told that filming for the 16th season is expected to start up in either July or August 2018. We will definitely let you guys know when some new details pop up.

We can tell you right now that NCIS will be keeping its same Tuesday night, 7 pm central standard time slot. So, you guys won’t have to switch up your schedules or DVRs for it.Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our NCIS Facebook page for more NCIS news by Clicking Here.
