Disney World Is Adding A New Super Hotel That’s Reported To Be Very Special

Hey, “Disney World” fans. Today, we’ve got some more exciting news for you guys. It turns out that Disney World is about to get another super hotel added to meet all the crazy demand they’ve recently had. According to a new report from the folks over at wftv.com, which is a local ABC news station out in Orlando,Florida, Marriott International just revealed plans yesterday, November 27, 2018 to build a new super hotel called, “The Cove.”

It’s going to be situated right across the street from the massive Swan and Dolphin hotels which Marriott currently owns and operates. The Cove will be a tower hotel addition to the Swan and Dolphin. It will provide 349 rooms. When The Cove is complete, Marriott will have 2,600 rooms between their Swan, Dolphin and Cove hotels.

The exact location for The Swan will be on Epcot Resorts Boulevard near the Fantasia Garden miniature golf course. Fred Sawyers, who is the general manager of Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resorts, made a statement about the new Cove hotel project. He said it’s going to be something special stating,”I’m sort of like a dad. I love the Swan. I love the Dolphin, but the newest baby is going to be something special.”

Fred also said of The Cove that it will be group-oriented and event or convention-focused, giving companies that may have outgrown the current property a reason to come back. Fred revealed that the demand for hotel rooms is flying off the charts, and they’re expected to do around five percent more in business this year. He stated, “Demand has really been off the charts. We’re going to do about 5 percent more in occupancy this year than we’ve ever done before.

I think it really does speak well of Orlando as a destination. We’ve got great infrastructure. Things like roads, the airport and convention center expanding. The future is very bright.”

The wftv.com article pointed out some pretty incredible facts about Orlando, Florida tourism. It turns out that the city received about 72 million visitors in 2017! Fred believes that with all the new projects coming to Disney World, the visitor numbers could increase to 75 million people!

They said some more things about the new Cove hotel that’s coming. It’s going to include a rooftop venue for weddings or VIP groups to rent out. Like the Swan and Dolphin hotels, The Cove will have walking access to Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Boardwalk, Yacht, and Beach resorts.

The new Cove hotel is expected to open up in less than two years from now. In related news, Disney World is also adding three other hotels in the next, couple of years. They are: Star Wars-themed resort, a nature-themed resort, a major expansion to Disney’s Coronado Resort, and the new Riviera Resort.

As previously reported, Disney World is also about to temporarily shut down its entire railroad to make way for a new Tron Roller coaster-type ride. It’s being touted as one of the highest rated rides in Shanghai Disneyland right now. So, Disney World Orlando decided to bring it over here.

It doesn’t stop there. Disney World is also planning to unveil its Skyliner gondola system in 2019 and a new “Guardians of the Galaxy” roller coaster ride is coming to Epcot in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021. Exciting things are definitely in the woodworks, guys.
