Riverdale Season 3’s Next, New Episode 9 Is Getting Delayed For A While
Happy Tuesday, “Riverdale” fans. Unfortunately, it’s that time of the year again where we have to let you guys know that your favorite show is currently taking its winter break. That means last week’s wild episode 8 of season 3 was indeed the winter finale episode, and we won’t be seeing episode 9 air for a couple of weeks.
Fortunately, The CW has revealed a confirmed date for when the new episode 9 is scheduled to air. It’s due to air on Wednesday night, January 16, 2019 in its same 7 pm central time slot. So, be sure to mark that very important date down on your TV show calendars.
So, what will the CW possibly be airing in Riverdale’s spot? Well, we can answer that question in regards to the next two weeks. According to the TV guide listings, The CW will be airing an animated special called, “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” this Wednesday night, December 19, 2018 in the 7 pm central time slot.
The CW’s description of it reads like this, “Elmo Shropshire narrates this animated interpretation of the offbeat Yule tune, as Jake Spankenheimer (Alex Doduk) tries to find his grandma and save her Christmas shop. It’s in danger of being sold by his greedy cousin, Mel (Michele Lee).”
Then in the 8 pm central time slot, The CW will be airing a special called, “Penn & Teller: Fool Us.” It’s episode 13 of season 5 and titled, “Let’s Hear it for the Kids.” The CW’s description of it reads like this, “The Season 5 finale: Magicians from around the world perform their best trick to try and fool Penn & Teller, who will get to see the trick only once and have to immediately try to work it out. Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn.”
On Wednesday night, December 26, 2018, The CW is scheduled to air a rerun of Riverdale in the 7 pm central time slot. It will be the 6th episode of the current season 3 which is titled, “Chapter Forty-One: Manhunter.” The CW’s description of it reads like this, “Betty follows some strong leads in hopes of finding out who the true Gargoyle King is after confronting the parents, who were part of “The Midnight Club” 25 years ago. Meanwhile, Veronica’s attempt to prove Archie’s innocence lands her in hot water. Finally, Archie turns to Kevin (Casey Cott) for help making things right.”
The Riverdale rerun will be followed up with a rerun of a new CW show called, “All American.” It’s the 4th episode of its current,first season. The episode is entitled, “Lose Yourself.” CW’s official description for it reads like this, “Spencer becomes seduced by the Beverly Hills good life during a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Coop is also being seduced by a new way of life—gang life—and everything it offers her.”
If any of those shows sound appealing to you guys, be sure to keep tuning into The CW. For those of you who don’t want to see any of that stuff, you will most certainly want to make some other plans, ASAP. We don’t know what The CW has planned beyond those two dates because the TV Guide listings don’t go out that far. But again, the important date is January 16, 2019 because that’s when Riverdale will be returning with the new episode 9 of the current season 3.

Alright, now that we’ve gotten our spoiler teaser warning out of the way, let’s jump into this preview clip. It doesn’t feature much dialogue, but that doesn’t mean it’s not shocking as hell! One of the scenes features Veronica and Reggie hooking up for a passionate moment! I could just sense that these two would probably hook up. Plus, we had gotten a spoiler tip before season 3 began, warning that Veronica was about to get a new man.
Betty and Jughead are seen doing some very intense lip locking. Jughead’s mother Gladys is spotted back on the scene for some more action. Archie and Hiram Lodge are seen having an intense confrontation. Josie is seen having a very terrifying moment. A gun gets pointed in one of the scenes. It all looks extremely intense.
