New ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 10 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It. Spoilers Coming Soon

Hey, “Blue Bloods” fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight’s season 9-ending episode 22. Now that season 9 is officially over and done with, it’s a good time to tell you that CBS did indeed renew your favorite show for a brand new season 10!

That’s right, guys. Blue Bloods will be back with a whole extra slate of episodes, starting this Fall 2019. Currently, we don’t have confirmation of how many episodes season 10 will serve up. However, with the very strong, LIVE ratings and viewership numbers this show brings in, we highly doubt that CBS would give it less than the usual 22 episode order we’ve become accustomed to.

This great news means that there will also be more spoiler scoops, cast interviews, preview photos and videos and all that good stuff to look forward to in the upcoming weeks and months.

We also don’t have an official premiere date for season 10, but we’re guessing it will premiere in late September 2019 like it always does. We will, of course, post the official premiere date as soon as CBS announces it. We expect that announcement to take place in late June or early July 2019.

According to the folks over at TV Line.com, the Blue Bloods season 10 renewal actually happened pretty early, back in the beginning of April 2019. During the big renewal announcement, CBS’ network president Kelly Kahlhad had some wonderful things to say about Blue Bloods.

He stated, “Blue Bloods has been a top 10 drama and Friday’s top-rated show every year it’s been on the air. On a night that many have claimed is quiet for broadcast television, its quality writing, superb acting and familial warmth have attracted an average of over 13 million passionate viewers each week for nine years. We are delighted that Tom will return and that the show will continue to be a vital component of the CBS schedule next season.”

TV Line also pointed out that the season 10 renewal will guarantee that Blue Bloods hits the 200 episode, milestone mark. So, that is just terrific for them. TV Line pointed out that CBS has also renewed NCIS, Criminal Minds , FBI, God Friended Me, Magnum P.I., Young Sheldon, Mom and The Neighborhood for new seasons. So, if and of you are fans of any of those shows as well, this is extra great news for you.

Right now, we just want to take a brief look at the great LIVE ratings and viewership numbers that Blue Bloods season 9 delivered. This is one the rare shows that actually held steady all season long. Usually after the season premiere, viewership drops greatly, but not for this show.

The season 9 premiere brought in 8.786 million viewers. It scored a 0.85 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. Those numbers held strong during the season and actually hopped up to 9 million for a couple of episodes.

The most recent episode 21 that aired on Friday night, May 3, 2019 brought in 8.129 million LIVE viewers and a 0.70 ratings score. It’s official average viewers was 8.426 million per episode for season 9. The average rating score was 0.79. So, that was another strong season, and it’s no wonder CBS renewed it. I don’t think there could’ve ever really been any doubt that they would.
