NCIS New Orleans Season 6 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It. Spoilers Coming Soon
Hey, “NCIS: New Orleans” fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight’s big season 5 finale episode 24. Now that it’s officially in the history books, I bet you guys want to know if there will be a new season 6, right?
If you are wondering, you can officially feel free to wonder no more. That’s right, guys. We are happy to let you know that CBS has officially renewed “NCIS: New Orleans” for a brand new season 6. In fact, they’ve renewed the whole NCIS family, which includes the original NCIS and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” If any of you guys are fans of those shows, this is extra good news for you.
This renewal also means that you guys can expect to see new spoilers,preview clips, cast interviews, preview photos and more of that good stuff in the upcoming weeks and months.
Currently, it is not yet known when season 6 is scheduled to premiere or how many episodes it will feature. If we had to take a wild guess at it, we would say that you guys can certainly expect it to debut sometime in late September 2019 like it did last year. Given the show’s strong ratings and viewership numbers, we think it will get another 24 episode order from CBS.
We do expect official confirmation of all this later this Summer 2019, possibly towards the end of June or early July. According to the folks over at TVinsider.com ,the “NCIS: New Orleans” season 6 renewal was actually announced at the end of April 2019. So, CBS was pretty early with it.
The president of CBS Entertainment Kelly Kahl had very nice words to say about the show during his announcement. He stated, “Both shows have been key pillars to the CBS schedule for several years.
They offer heroic stories, big stars and have attracted a passionate, loyal fan base. We’re excited to have Chris, LL, Scott and these terrific casts back to bring more terrific NCIS stories to viewers in the U.S. and around the world.”
As I mentioned earlier, the season 5 numbers for NCIS: New Orleans looked pretty damn good. Like most shows, the viewership and ratings numbers did slide a bit throughout the season, but it averaged a strong 7.302 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.79 ratings score for the 18 to 49 year old demographics.
The season 5 premiere episode 1 was the strongest episode. It brought in 8.968 million viewers, and it scored a 1.03 ratings score. The most recent episode 23 that aired on May 7, 2019 brought in 6.677 million viewers, and it scored a 0.70 for the ratings.
Those are pretty good numbers for this episode. So, it’s no mystery why CBS renewed it for a new season 6.
