MasterChef July 11, 2019 Eliminated Michael Silverstein & Liz Linn (Episode 9 Recap)

Hey,”MasterChef” fans. Tonight, July 11, 2019, the 9th episode of this current season 10 did indeed air, and two more unlucky chefs were sent packing at the end. Tonight’s episode kicked off with the judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez and Joe Bastianich revealing the big elimination challenge.

It was the tag team challenge. They let contestant Nick DiGiovanni pick the teams since he won the last immunity challenge with the best dish. Nick ended up pairing Sam with Shari, Dorian with Subha, Noah with Sarah and Michael with Liz.

It was revealed that the teams had to make a giant platter that consisted of a Pork Spring Roll, a fish taco, beef skewers, pork dumplings and two other dishes I didn’t catch. They also had to add one more dish of their very own to the platter.

Sarah said she wanted to be tagged with Noah because communication is key, and Noah never stops talking. Dorian wasn’t thrilled to be tagged with Subha at all.

The teams were given 75 minutes to make all these dishes. When the judges called, “Switch,” they had to tag their partner and swap out. They did this about every 10 to 15 minutes.

Subha started with the potatoes. He and Dorian decided he would start, and she would finish because she’s better with plating.

Sarah and Noah seemed to getting along well to start things off. They were complementing each other and so on and so forth.

Dorian was clearly frustrated with Subha early on. Shari revealed to Gordon they’re doing a slider for their 7th dish.

Again, Noah and Sarah seemed to be doing excellent with about 45 minutes left to go. Dorian started saying Subha is not listening to her. She was getting so frustrated with him. At one point, she asked him if he knows how to make an Italian meatball. He said no. She said, “I’m so mad right now.”

Even Gordon started yelling at Subha. Dorian started crying at one point. Gordon tried to help her out. He got her back to a calm state when she switched out with Subha.

At one point, Joe said Shari was a little behind with their dishes. Michael started getting really frustrated with Liz because they were really behind.

Gordon tried to help out Subha by telling him to just focus on his strengths. Shari said they’re not going to be able to do their 7th dish.

Dorian kept yelling at Subha nonstop saying, “You’re not listening!” Subha told the private cams, “I know how to cook. I’ve been cooking for 30 years, but I can’t with someone screaming at me every second.” Poor Subha. At one point, Subha dropped the one tortilla they had, and Dorian started screaming.

With 5 minutes left, everyone scrambled to get their dishes plated. Dorian said, “I don’t feel like I’m serving the judges my best work.”

After all of that, the judges tasted Michael and Liz’s dishes first. Gordon said, “The meat is not even seared. That’s dangerous.” He also said their dough was raw. Aaron said their pork roll was oversaturated or something, and their sauce was too strong. Joe said their beef skewer was unbalanced ,and their meatballs were hard and dry. Needless to say, it was a very bad review for them.

Next up was Noah and Sarah. Gordon said their beef was charred beautifully, and their seasoning is on point. Aaron said their pork rolls had good flavor, and their taco is a good representation of what it should be. Joe said the char on their meat is good.

Dorian and Subha presented their dishes next. Gordon said, “Visually, it’s got some great colors.” He said their samosa seasoning is nice, and their pot-sticker is delicious. Aaron said their pork rolls are cooked through and nice. Joe said their 7th dish, which was Caribbean shrimp, was very good.

Lastly, Shari and Sam presented their dishes. Gordon said their samosa seasoning is on point, but their pot-sticker was raw. Aaron said their pork roll flavor was really good, but looked bad. Joe said their meatball was very good, and their skewer beef was pretty good. However, everything was incomplete. They also didn’t make a 7th bonus dish.

After all of that, the judges immediately told Noah and Sarah and Dorian and Subha they were safe. That left Shari and Sam and Michael and Liz as the bottom two teams.

The judges ultimately decided to save Shari and Sam. That meant poor Michael Silverstein and Liz Linn were eliminated. Aaron told Michael and Liz, “This particular challenge overwhelmed you.”
