MasterChef July 25, 2019 Eliminated Sam Haaz (Episode 13 Recap)

Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, July 25, 2019, the 13th episode of this current season 10 did indeed air with judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez, and Joe Bastianich. It was a dreaded elimination show that had some interesting surprises.

During the elimination challenge, the cooks were told they had to make dishes out of sour dough bread. They had to make an amazing entree and dessert. They were given one hour to create these dishes.

At one point during the big cook off, it was revealed that Renee was trying to make some sort of meatloaf dish. Nick told Gordon he was doing something with a smoked egg yolk and gnocchi dough.

At one point, Nick was seen running into quite a bit of trouble trying to prepare his dish. Dorian told Gordon she was making a pan fried pork chop with red stuffing and chocolate turtle bread putting dish. Gordon told her,”Don’t overcook it.”

Subha was seen pressure cooking some chicken. He told Gordon he was making a bread pudding to go along with his bread and chicken dish.

Towards the end of the challenge with about 60 seconds left to go, all the cooks were seen rushing to try and get their dishes plated.

Afterwards, the cooks presented their dishes to the judges. Nick was up first. He presented a Bread & Potato Gnocchi with Uni Butter and Smoked Egg Yolk dish. His desert was Brioche Strawberry Shortcake with Basil Butter.

Aaron told Nick, “The gnocchi is a little dense, but the flavor is good.” Gordon commented on Nick’s desert saying, “It wasn’t up to par, but I love your ambition.”

Next, Dorian presented pan-fried pork chops with the red stuffing from earlier along with honey-glazed carrots and turtle bread pudding with sweet cream. Gordon told her, “It’s perfection. Absolutely spot on.” Joe said, “It has excellent flavors. It is excellent.”

Wuta delivered a creamy cajun tomato soup in a sourdough bread bowl dish. His dessert was a tarte tatin with bread & bananas. Joe said, “The seasoning is masterful.” Gordon said, “You are very relaxed when cooking with no protein.” All the judges loved his desert too.

Noah presented a chicken piccata with roasted pepper grits dish. His dessert was a cherry bread pudding with walnuts and raspberry anglaise. Gordon said, “You cook with your heart.”It’s not your best dish though.” Aaron said, “You took it to a place that speaks to me.”

Next,Jamie presented a pecan-crusted red snapper with spinach and caper sauce dish. His dessert was french toast with caramelized bananas & pecans. Gordon said, “It is vibrant and delicious.” Aaron said, “I love that you took your time with it. It is amazing.”

Sarah served up a bread and herb crusted halibut with breadcrumb gnocchi dish. Her dessert was Brioche Bread Pudding with Lavender Infused Raspberry Jam. Gordon said, “The fish dish looks like it is missing something.” The judges said they liked the fish. They said the desert was rich, delicious and very flavorful.

Bri presented a French Onion Soup with Gruyere Cheese in a Sourdough Bread Bowl dish. Her dessert was Blackberry Clafoutis with Brioche & Pistachio Crumble. Aaron said, “How was the 60 minutes used to your advantage?”

Gordon said, “These dishes are not you.” Joe said, “Your dish is not season 10 worthy.” Gordon said, “Your dessert is an insult to France. I’m shocked that you sabotaged your own success.” Bri definitely teared up after that, worrying she would go home.

Sam delivered a Dill-Crusted Snapper with Butter Sauce and Romesco Potatoes dish. His dessert was a Cardamom-Spiced Bread Pudding. Gordon said, “The potatoes smell incredible, but the fish is overcooked. The highlight was the potatoes, but it is not a potato challenge.” Joe said, “At this point in the completion, we need to see more from you. All I taste is honey in the dessert.”

Subha cooked up a Chicken Mulligatawny Soup in a Bread Bowl dish. His dessert was a Rose & Safron Bread Pudding. Joe said, “I have never eaten anything like this. I appreciate your finesse.” Gordon said, “I’m calling my mom and telling her I want a dish like this.”

Joe said of Subha’s dessert, “It is the worst looking and tasting dessert. It is so spicy.” Gordon said, “Why does it have to be so spicy?” Your dessert has to come with a hazardous warning sign.”

Renee delivered a meatloaf with Potatoes and Green Beans dish. Her dessert was Strawberry Shortcake. Gordon said, “The meatloaf is too tight. It’s too basic. It feels like it was made two months ago.” Aaron said, “It is too plain of a dish.”

Gordon said, “The desert is delicious.” Joe said, “The dessert is just bread with strawberries and cream. It’s a little too basic.”

After that, the judges immediately saved Dorian because they loved her dishes. Then they immediately saved everyone except for Sam, Bri and Renee. So, they were the bottom three this week. Finally, it was revealed that the judges eliminated poor Sam Haaz.

I think Bri should of 100% gotten eliminated. Gordon Ramsay even said her dish wasn’t “season 10 worthy”
