Sean Spicer and Jenna Johnson kicked off tonight’s performances with a Jazz routine. Jenna replaced Sean’s usual dance pro partner Lindsay Arnold who took the night off to spend time with her grieving family because her mother-in-law died.

After Sean and Jenna’s performance, Len told Sean, “We keep throwing you out of the boat, and the viewers keep throwing you a life preserver. The mermaid had better feet than you did, but I respect the effort.”

Bruno said, “You don’t have many jazz bones in your body. Dory in ‘Finding Nemo’ has a better sense of direction.”

Carrie Ann said, “You look like you’re doing the same dance over and over, but seeing you dance with someone else showed a different side of you.” Carrie Ann gave Sean a 7 score, Len a 7, Bruno a 6 for total of 20 points out of a possible 30 points.

Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko arrived on stage next to present a Jive routine to the song, “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley. Afterwards, Bruno told Lauren, “You had a great 50s feel, and you had good pumping leg action, but you went wrong three times.”

Carrie Ann said, “I was thrilled when you started the routine, but then something went wrong. I still think you have a lot going for you.”

Len said, “There were a few mistakes, but you deserve to stay in this competition. I hope the night doesn’t end in Heartbreak Hotel.” Carrie Ann gave Lauren an 8 score, Len an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

Next, Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson delivered a Salsa dance to the song, “This is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan.

Afterwards, Carrie Ann told Kel, “I loved the back and forth between your solo grooving and your partner work.” Len said, “You’re on a roll. Full of rhythm and plenty of junk in the trunk with good hip action. You were large and in charge.”

Bruno said, “You’re the main attraction in a star turn. You were leading the whole dance from the beginning to the end.” Carrie Ann gave Kel a 9 score, Len a 9, Bruno a 10 for a total of 28 points. So, Kel and Witney got the first perfect 10 score of this season!

Ally Brooke and Sasha Farber served up a Paso Doble number to Ally’s own song called, “Higher.” Afterwards, Len told Ally, “It was a mix of good technique and high performance.”

Bruno said, “You were conducting the orchestra with beauty, power and artistry.” Carrie Ann said, “You proved to me that you are a freaking superstar. You commanded all of our attention. My mind is blown.”

Carrie Ann gave Ally a perfect 10 score, Len a 10, Bruno a 10 for a perfect score of 30 points, which was the first of this season !

Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten had to follow up Ally and Sasha’s perfect performance with a Quickstep routine.

After they wrapped it up, Bruno told Hannah, “Your performance was a game-changer. You really used the floor to give you lift and spring. You were in orbit.”

Carrie Ann gave Hannah a hug and said, “You were open-hearted and that was the comeback of the season.” Len said, “You had a nice frame with clarity of movement, but there was a little gapping in between you when you were in hold, but otherwise it was a fabulous dance.” Carrie Ann gave Hannah a 10 score, Len a 9, Bruno a 10 for an almost perfect 29 score.

Kate Flannery and Pasha Pashkov did a Jive dance to the song, “Heatwave” by Linda Ronstadt. Afterwards, Carrie Ann told Kate, “I felt the celebration in the dance, but there were times when your arm was small out of hold.”

Len said, “You were a joy to watch. It’s not your best, but it’s certainly not your worst.” Bruno said, “It was clever and tailor-made for your ability, but you went out of sync a couple of times.” Carrie Ann gave Kate an 8 score, Len an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

James Van Der Beek and Emma Slater rocked out a Contemporary dance number to the song, “Don’t Stop Believin.”

Afterwards, Len told James, “It was like a good book. It held my interest from start to finish, and I think you’re going to find it has a really happy ending.”

Bruno said, “It was totally compelling, and the lifts were absolutely exquisite with the fluidity of water.” Carrie Ann said, “I have never seen a lift executed so well on this show. It was pure artistry in motion. Carrie Ann gave James a perfect 10 score, Len a 10, Bruno a 10 for another perfect score of 30 points!

Next, they did something called the Dance Off Round. Kel Mitchell danced off against Ally Brooke to a Jive routine. They danced to the song, “Don’t Stop me Now” by Queen.

Afterwards, Len said, “I thought both teams were top-notch and terrific.” Bruno said, “It’s almost impossible to call.” Carrie Ann said, “You were both on fire. You don’t make our jobs easy.”

Next, Sean Spicer battled Kate Flannery in a Cha,Cha dance battle. They danced to the song, “Gonna Make You Sweat” by C+C Music Factory.

Afterwards, Bruno said, “I saw somebody who quite improved, and someone who caught my attention, though not necessarily for the right reasons.”

Carrie Ann said, “I have nothing but respect for both of you. One of the couples had two people doing the cha cha, and the other couple had maybe one dancer doing the cha cha.”

Len said, “You both did a really good cha cha, and it was a fun thing to watch.” Carrie Ann voted for Kate, Len voted for Kate, Bruno for Kate. So, Kate won and got two points added to her score for tonight.

Next, Lauren Alaina battled Hannah Brown in a Salsa dance-off. They danced to the song, “Rhythm is Gonna Get You” by Gloria Estefan.

Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “It was an amazing showcase, and the girls are in it to win it.” Len said, “I wish I could give the ladies one point each.” Bruno said, “The Southern belles are illegally hot.”

Carrie Ann ultimately voted for Hannah, Len for Hannah, Bruno for Hannah. So, Hannah won and got two points added to her 29 points for a total of 31 points.

At this point, it was time for the results. It was revealed that everyone was safe except for poor Kate Flannery & Pasha Pashkov and Ally Brooke & Sasha Farber. They landed in the bottom two of voting this week.

The judges got to save one of these couples. All the judges voted to save Ally. That means Kate Flannery and her dance pro partner Pasha Pashkov hit the end of their road tonight.

Kate Flannery did a great job dancing with her moves and beautiful figure. Sometimes I think this show is rigged. Sailor Brinkley cook should not have been eliminated. These are my opinions.
