‘Survivor’ March 18, 2020 Voted Off Parvati Shallow & Sandra Diaz-Twine (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, March 18, 2020, another brand new episode of Survivor season 40: “Winners At War” did indeed air, and it featured another two unlucky former winners meeting their doom after it was all said and done.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with pretty much all the Yara tribemembers talking about how much better they feel to have gotten rid of Boston Rob at the last tribal council meeting.

Ben told the private cams, “Rob showed me too much disrespect, and I couldn’t take it anymore.” Adam said the whole tribe was glad to get rid of Rob, but he was still worried the other guys have better connections with Sophie and Sarah than he does.

Next, they showed more “Edge of Extinction” footage with Boston Rob’s arrival. They were given a new clue for a hidden fire token. The clue told them, “The more stones you turn over at the right place and right time.”

So, they all went searching for it by flipping over stones all over the island. Finally, it was Tyson who located the correct stone. He found an idol nullifier advantage. It’s able to block someone from using the idol at a tribal council meeting. He sent it to Parvati, and she quickly bought it, giving Tyson a fire token.

From there, we saw host Jeff Probst show up with the new immunity/rewards challenge. Everyone was in awe that Rob got voted out. This challenge had a few very important caveats from the last episode.

Jeff told them only one tribe out of the three could win this immunity and reward. The two tribes that lost would have their own, separate tribal council meeting! So, this was a double-elimination episode. The reward was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Michele and Sandra sat out of this challenge. During the immunity challenge, the three tribes had to swim out and retrieve 3 bags. Then they had to push the bags through an apparatus and then climb over that apparatus. From there, they had to make it back to shore with the three bags.

Next, they had to open up the bags and get balls out of them. Then they had to take those balls and maneuver them through a table maze.

The first tribe to maneuver all three of their balls into 3 holes that were located in the center of the table maze, won.

The Yara tribe ended up winning it,thanks to Sophie. She got two of their balls in the hole for their tribe, including the very last one. I mean she was there hero for this competition without a doubt.

This unfortunately meant that both the Sele and Dakal tribes had to figure out who to get rid of for their double, tribal council meetings.

At the Sele tribe, Parvati said, “I feel really alone here. I need numbers, or I’m screwed.” Nick, Wendell and Yul said they were ready to vote out Parvati. However, Nick told the private cams he was looking forward to playing with his crush Parvati. So, it’s sad that he has to vote her out.

Michele and Parvati talked about trying to flip one of the guys, and they ,of course, decided to work on Nick.

At one point, Michele tried to suggest to Wendell that she wanted to vote him out because she didn’t want to vote Parvati out.

The logic is that she knew he had the votes to stay, but Wendell wasn’t having it because if anything were to go wrong, it would be too many votes against him. Michele didn’t like how unreasonable Wendell was being, so they fought a little bit.

At one point, Parvati talked to Wendell. He offered to vote out whoever she wanted for two fire tokens. Parvati didn’t believe him though.

So, she went and told Nick about this conversation to see if she could create doubt in Nick’s mind about Wendell. Nick did seem receptive to it in the moment. Michele was also seen campaigning to Nick to get Wendell out.

At the Dakal tribe, Tony got paranoid again. So, he started spying on everyone from in the bushes.

Sandra was seen telling Jeremy she’s probably sticking with her alliance she already built before he got there, which was Tony and Kim. Jeremy obviously didn’t like that since it left him on the outs.

Denise tried to campaign to Sandra and Kim why she should stay over Jeremy. Kim and Sandra got pretty concerned that Tony ran off during this very important time.

Sandra told the private cams, “I need some fire tokens.” So, she told Denise, “I’ll give you an idol for 2 fire tokens.” Denise said, “I’ll give you one token now and one afterwards when I know it’s real.” Sandra agreed.

Denise told the private cams, “I already have idols in my bag, but this could be a game changer.”

At the Sele tribal council, Wendell said, “I will stab people in the back and in the front to win the $2 million dollars. Parvati said, “I just want to work with someone that’s fun and who will strategize with me.”

Wendell admitted to telling Parvati he would vote with her for a token or two, and he actually brought up the deal again with her right front of everyone!

Parvati wouldn’t do it though saying, “I sense that you don’t trust me. So, I can’t take this deal at face value.” Wendell said, “That’s all I got.”

Finally, they voted. Parvati got 3 votes, and Wendell got 2 votes. So, poor Parvati did indeed get ousted. I was truly upset about this. She was my favorite. I was totally rooting for her. This sucks. Anyways, Parvati gave her fire token to Michele on her way out to “Edge Of Extinction.”

Next , we saw the Dakal tribal council footage. During it, Jeremy argued that he can help them stay strong so they don’t have to see another tribal council. Denise said a few things too. The rest was just general game talk. Nothing really major stood out.

Then they voted, and this is where something major did happen. Before Jeff read off the votes, Denise played not one, but two friggin immunity idols! She played one for herself and one for Jeremy! I was like, “Oh sh@#t! It’s going down like this?!”

Denise ended up getting 4 votes that didn’t count due to her immunity idols, and Sandra got 1 vote that did count. So, Sandra became the very unlucky victim of this tribal council meeting. Sandra gave her fire token to Yul on her way out to “Edge Of Extinction.”

So, the only two-time winner Sandra Diaz-Twine and Parvati Shallow got royally shafted in this episode. How do you guys feel about Parvati and Sandra getting the boot in tonight’s March 18, 2020, Survivor season 40 episode?

I am glad that Sandra got voted out!!! On the immunity challenges, she hardly played, always sitting out. They should make a rule you can only sit out once, then you can sit out again after everyone else that’s left had a turn. Glad the queen is off!!

  2. Otto Pozzo says:

I was thrilled Sandra got voted out. While it’s within the rules for Sandra to sit out challenges, it’s hardly fair. Last nights challenge was physically taxing. Fatigue can play a big role in this game, but not for Sandra.

Smartest move Denise could have ever made!!!!
