‘General Hospital’ September 29 & 30, 2020 Episodes Delayed, Pre-empted. Not Airing On Those Days

Hey, “General Hospital” fans. We have some super bad, but very important news to tell you about in this article. It turns out this will just not be the week for a lot of new General Hospital episodes.

Apparently, ABC will not be airing new episodes of General Hospital on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 and Thursday, October 1, 2020. They also might not air it on Friday, October 2, 2020, but we’re not sure yet.

Here’s the situation. It turns out that ABC is providing LIVE coverage of the Major League Baseball playoffs on those days we mentioned. So, unfortunately, General Hospital episodes will be taking a back seat to all of that.

According to the TV Guide listings, ABC will be airing 3 hours of Major League Baseball playoff coverage from 1 pm to 4 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

ABC’s description for that game reads like this, “Game 1: Houston Astros at Minnesota Twins. Houston Astros at Minnesota Twins in Game 1 of an American League Wild Card series. From Target Field. This is the Astros’ fourth straight postseason and 14th overall. AL Central-champ Minnesota has lost its last 16 playoff games, dating to 2004.”

Then on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, ABC will air the Major League Baseball playoffs game for the Miami Marlins vs. the Chicago Cubs from 1 pm to 4 pm.

ABC’s description for it reads like this, “Game 1: Miami Marlins at Chicago Cubs. Miami Marlins at Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of a National League Wild Card series. From Wrigley Field. This is the Cubs’ fifth postseason in six years, while the Marlins are in for the first time since 2003, when they beat Chicago in the NLCS and won it all.”

On Thursday, October 1,2020, ABC will air another 3 hours of Major League Baseball playoffs coverage from 1 pm to 4 pm. Currently, the teams are to be announced for that particular game.

If any of you guys happen to be Major League baseball fans, you might still want to flip on ABC on those days to catch these huge baseball games.

However, we suspect that most of you are not baseball fans. So, if you don’t want to see any baseball action, you will certainly want to avoid ABC on these days. We’ll have to jump back on here on Wednesday and Thursday to update you guys about the Thursday and Friday schedule.

There is a new episode planned for Friday, October 2,2020, but we’re hearing that it’s possible it may be pre-empted on that day as well.

We can officially tell you that new episodes of General Hospital will definitely start up again on Monday, October 5, 2020 in its usual 1 pm central standard time slot on ABC. Again, we’ll be back later on this week to give you further updates about the Thursday and Friday schedule. So, look out for that.

Also, we are hearing that some repeat episodes of General Hospital might be airing in certain time zones of the United States on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The possible repeat episode for Tuesday September 29, 2020 would be for the episode that originally aired on February 3, 2015. ABC’s official description for it reads like this, “Dante and Nathan survive the explosion. Jake’s flashes of memories lead him to remember there’s a bomb on the Haunted Star.

After Carlos shoots Ava, she stumbles over a bridge and Sonny tries to save her to no avail. And Franco does the unthinkable to stay close to Nina.”

The possible repeat episode for Wednesday, September 30, 2020 is the one that originally aired on February 4, 2015. ABC’s official description for it reads like this, “Tick, tick… BOOM, a bomb goes off at Haunted Star and an unlikely hero emerges.”

The possible repeat episode for Thursday, October 1, 2020 is the one that originally aired on February 5, 2015. ABC’s official description for it reads like this, “Alexis is worried about Julian. Sabrina arrives home to a surprise.”

Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “General Hospital” TV show special report, but definitely stay tuned for more.

how dare baseball take over channel 7. people pay for a sports channel and that is where the baseball games belong! Why does
everything else take priority over general hospital. Even news reports interupt this show which is rediculous because the news
comes on at 4:00. I could wait an hour to hear about news but they have to broadcast it when it happens. They should stop messing
    with our soaps.

I agree. Has anyone out there ever been asked to take part in an ABC sponsored consumer opinion survey about preempting practices? I thought not. ABC you never cease to let me down…

The one thing I can’t wait to do every day at 2PM is watch general hospital and ABC has to take it away for a week. They should just play it before the baseball games start!

How dare they not give us our only escape from the Covid reality of life and allow us
to enjoy our General Hospital to keep us grounded and happy!!! BRING BACK OUR Only
Escape we have which is this soap opera..

This is unacceptable. Are we the only fans that can be summarily discarded? I hate this! Why does General Hospital keep vanishing from the station? Where were we notified that General Hospital would ne gone this week in favour of Baseball? I do not care about Baseball…and it could start at 2 p.m ., or at some other time . .. what’s wrong with that? I guess I can go watch CNN

  13. Balinda says:

This is NOT OK ……. ABC you always take General hospital off for this kind of crap !!!! Put General Hospital back on !!!!!!

Who watches baseball in the middle of the afternoon! I, for one, have had it with ABC..All you want to show are sports or that idiot who refers to himself as president.

  15. Mary says:

Why do men get everything they want on TV ? I am 82 years old and I’ve enjoyed General Hospital for a long time! Sports have a lot of sports channels! And I hate when you cut in for political news!

  16. This really sucks! No one is even paying attention the playoffs at this time. Why can’t this be shown prime time then?

Like everyone else I feel the same in that the sports channel should be just that sports and news at the designated times unless it’s any emergency. I’ve missed so much of my afternoon show that I’m truly losing interest with TV..ABC. Soon I won’t watch TV at all. Maybe that will be a good thing. NOt sure how that will be for you when everyone follows suit.

Fu ABC! I am done! Sorry GH….it’s been great but I just can’t anymore

Continuing to being subjected to enforced confinement this is extremely disappointing. Sports has several dedicated channels. Why must we be deprived in favor of those enthusiasts?

  20. Anonymous says:

Really upset about this. Why can’t these games by aired in PM? This is my only escape from CORONAVIRUS depression. ABC thanks a lot!!!

  21. Anonymous says:

I agree with everyone about ABC…they are getting worse and worse about daytime T.V. eliminating any shows that are of a lighter note. Repetitive talk shows that go over and over the same thing again and again. ABC used to be my go-to station, now it’s becoming my no-go to station with very few exceptions. This really is not ok preempting G.H. for baseball, save it for the evening crowd!!

  22. Anonymous says:

Well, with everything going on,this is fine with me.I’m a hugh Dodger Fan

  23. Anonymous says:

Not happy at all!! Every time something else goes on, it’s alway GH has to be pre-empted (why?). There’s a sports channel for sports why can’t baseball be viewed there instead of taking up the regular everyday shows. We pay alot of money for cable and we should be able to watch our daily show without interruption!! This is BS ?

  24. LC says:

I don’t watch it in the afternoon. I’m at work at that time. Use to record it and would get all my second job chores done after I got home from work and then settle down to watch. Really annoying when you find out you recorded some bullcrap stuff the network decided to preempt regular programming for. Stuff that could easily wait until the regular news cycle. Nothing important that can’t wait.

  25. Anonymous says:

Not a problem, after all that time off for a COVID-19 shutdown I’m just glad it’s back on the air.

Not a problem. After being off the air for so long due to a COVID-19 shutdown I’m just glad to have if back on the air.

  27. Anonymous says:

Why is it that General Hospital is interrupted for everything, all the time. Is it the only good hour of TV and the only good station to broadcast? It is absolutely ridiculous. I watch one hour of TV per day and they are always bumping it off for something else. So sick of it!

  28. Anonymous says:

Very annoying to have sports take over our show, there are specific channels for that

  29. Anonymous says:

Why is it that GENERAL HOSPITAL is always stomped on. By the Pres. , Gov. and now baseball. Tired of it they have there news and sports channels leave our soaps alone Especially since we are down to only one soap

  30. Laura McNutt says:

Then, after waiting all week to watch today and looking forward to it, over half of it was interrupted with news of Trump leaving the hospital and his vitamin regimen. Seriously??
