Dancing With The Stars November 16, 2020 Eliminated Skai, Alan, Johnny & Britt (Recap)

Hey, “Dancing With The Stars” fans. Tonight, November 17, 2020, another Dancing With The Stars performance/results show aired for this current season 29. The judges: Derek Hough, Carrie Anne Inaba and Bruno Tonioli were indeed on hand ,again, to deliver their critiques and scores.

The celebs performed two dances tonight. The first dance was a redemption dance. In this one, the judges picked the couple’s weakest dance to perform again to see if they could improve it. The second dance featured the couples learning a completely new style.

Tonight’s performances kicked off with Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten serving up a Cha Cha routine. Bruno picked this one for them.

After their performance, Bruno said, “I’m proud of your 24 karat hip action, and your legs were so much better.”


Carrie Ann said, “It was tight and crisp, and an amazing comeback after your last, tough performance.” Derek said, “I noticed how you were stronger and more relaxed, and I love the gold dress, which accentuates your movements.”

Carrie Ann gave Skai & Alan a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points out of a possible 30 points.

Next up, was Justina Machado and Sasha Farber. They performed a Tango dance. Derek selected this dance for them.

After their performance, Derek said, “I admired the attack, passion, and technique, and no hops!” Bruno said, “You were on top of it with a different intention that gave the dance the right feeling. It was so much better.” Carrie Ann said, “You’re on fire tonight, and there was a new oozing sensuality from you.”

Carrie Ann gave Justina & Sasha a 9 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 9 for a total of 28 points.

Johnny Weir and Britt Stewart hit the stage next to rock out a Salsa routine, which Carrie Ann picked out for them.

After their performance, Carrie Ann said, “I’m proud of you, and I noticed the tangle in the underarm turns. There was a little mistake on the side-by-side.”

Derek said, “It was a tough routine with power and finesse, and I admire the Cuban heels you’re wearing.” Bruno said, “You’ve got the feeling of action, reaction and connection, but there were some little mistakes.”

Carrie Ann gave Johnny & Britt a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Nelly and Daniella Karagach delivered a Paso Doble routine that was selected by Bruno. After their performance, Bruno said,”I could see the artist, and I could feel Nelly’s restrained power.”

Carrie Ann said, “You danced it with power, presence and control over your body, though there was a bit of a flat-footed moment.” Derek said, “There was definitely improvement, and you had captivating focus throughout, but I wanted to see more attack during the song’s heavy percussion.”

Carrie Ann gave Johnny & Britt a 9 score, Derek a 8, Bruno a 9 for a total of 26 points.

Nev Schulman and Jenna Johnson danced a Foxtrot routine that was selected by Derek. After their performance, Derek said, “I loved that it was classic and pure with absolute control throughout the entire routine.”

Bruno said, “You’re a class act. Your bum was under control, and you never lost your frame. You also had great interpretation of the music, and you mirrored Jenna very well.”

Carrie Ann said, “I loved the heel leads and body contact. You have mastered the technique and become a true ballroom artist.”

Carrie Ann gave Nev & Jenna a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for a perfect 30 score!

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev danced a Paso Doble routine that Carrie Ann picked for them.

Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “It was passionate and powerful. It was a fantastic, fast, and furious paso doble.” Derek said, “I wanted more attack from you at first, but you sold me on your character by the end of the routine.” Bruno said, “It was 100 percent authentic paso doble.”

Carrie Ann gave Kaitlyn & Artem a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for perfect 30 score!

At this point, Justina Machado and Sasha Farber kicked off the second round of performances with a Contemporary routine.

Afterwards, Derek said, “I love watching you. You make it look effortless with beautiful arms.” Bruno said, “I appreciated the freedom of movement and sense of relief. I love you.”

Carrie Ann said, “You have brought something incredible out of Justina. It was beautiful, authentic and gorgeous.”

Carrie Ann gave Justina & Sasha a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for another perfect 30 score!

Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten hit the stage next to deliver a Viennese Waltz. Afterwards, Bruno said, “It had the poise and elegance of a Vogue cover. I admired the emotional connection you had to the dance while also maintaining the flow.”

Carrie Ann said, “You are an impressive young woman who expressed your vulnerability and took the routine to a whole different level.” Derek said, “Your gorgeous frame and your connection were beautiful, exquisite and perfection.”

Carrie Ann gave Skai & Alan a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for yet another perfect 30 score!

Johnny Weir and Britt Stewart performed a Jazz number for their second round performance. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “It looked like you were on cloud nine.” Derek said, “It was beautiful and a perfect representation of your partnership. I wish I could give it an 11.”

Bruno Said, “It was clean and clear with purity of line and form. It had shades of Alvin Ailey and Jerome Robbins. It had everything I love.”

Carrie Ann gave Johnny & Britt a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for another perfect 30 score! The judges were really handing those perfect scores out tonight.

Nev Schulman and Jenna Johnson served up a Contemporary routine for their second dance. Afterwards, Derek said, “I was so transfixed on it that I almost forgot to judge. You aced your choreography.”

Bruno said, “I can’t believe you were that good without having done it before. Every detail felt purposeful and precise.” Carrie Ann said, “I was really impressed by the choreography. You didn’t tone it down at all. You were up to your level.”

Carrie Ann gave Nev & Jenna a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for a perfect 30 score!

Nelly and Daniella Karagach danced a Jive number. Afterwards, Bruno said, “You nailed it, and it was almost miraculous.” Carrie Ann said, “What happened? That was incredible. This was your long-awaited breakthrough.” Derek said, “You nailed that routine.”

Carrie Ann gave Nelly & Daniella a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for the umpteenth perfect 30 score!

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev did a Contemporary number for their second go around. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said,”We’ve never seen dancing at the level of these Semi-Final couples. I knew you would be especially good at contemporary, and you and Artem came together as a very beautiful team.”

Derek said, “I loved the storytelling.” Bruno said, “It was powerful and beautiful.”

Carrie Ann gave Kaitlyn & Artem a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for yet another outstanding perfect 30 score!

Finally, they revealed that all the couples were safe except for three of them because tonight was a double elimination night.

The couples who were not safe turned out to be: Justina & Sasha, Skai & Alan, and Johnny & Britt.

They revealed that Johnny & Britt got the lowest amount of votes this week. So, they were the first couple to be eliminated tonight.

Then the judges got to save a couple. They all voted to save Justina & Sasha, which meant Skai & Alan were the second couple to get eliminated tonight.
