The Rookie Season 4, May 15, 2022 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 5 Is Happening
Hey, “The Rookie” fans. We hope you guys totally dug and savored every last minute of tonight’s episode 22 of The Rookie’s current season 4 because it was indeed the episode that wrapped up this season. That’s right, guys. Episode 22 is the season 4 finale episode. That means you won’t be getting another new episode for quite some time.
The positive news is that you will get to see more new episodes of The Rookie at some point in time because we’ve learned that ABC did indeed renew The Rookie for a brand new season 5! Currently, it’s unknown when season 5 will start up, or how many episodes it will feature. However, we think it will most likely debut this Fall 2022 sometime.
According to the people over at Deadline.com , ABC decided to give The Rookie its new season 5 order way back in March 2022. So, they did give it an early renewal.
The Rookie season 4 averaged 3.162 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.36 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Sunday night, May 8, 2022, drew in 3.677 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.41 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 20 with 4.172 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 7 with 2.593 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 15 with a 0.51 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 9 with a 0.28 ratings score. However, these Neilson ratings only give half the picture because The Rookie’s season 4 actually averaged 10 million total viewers when you factor in all the viewing from the streaming platforms.
That’s very important because those LIVE, Neilson viewership numbers ,alone, seemed pretty low for an ABC show. But, as long as they can keep bringing in those big streaming numbers, that helps make up for the lack of LIVE viewers.
