The Challenge USA August 10, 2022 Eliminated Derek Xiao & Shannon St. Clair (Recap)
Hey, “The Challenge USA” fans. Tonight, August 10, 2022, another new episode of The Challenge USA season 1 did indeed air, and we saw another two contestants get eliminated at the end.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the contestants getting paired up with new partners again. Tyson Apostol got paired with Kyra Green. Ben Driebergen with Sarah Lacina. David Alexander with Desi Williams. Leo Temory with Cayla Platt. Danny McCray with Alyssa Lopez. Derek Xiao with Shannon St. Clair. Kyland Young with Cashay Proudfoot. Domenick Abbate with Angela Rummons, and Enzo Palumbo with Justine Ndiba.
Sarah told private cams, “I’m gonna make Tyson pay for coming after me.” Ben told the private cams, “Tyson needs to show me some respect, or it’s gonna bite him in the butt.”
After all of that, host TJ Lavin showed up with a new challenge called, “Containment.” In it, the teams had to run and jump into the water. Then, swim to some ladders and climb up on crates. They had to count symbols that were on the crates. Then, swing across to land on a middle crate/platform. From there, jump off and go solve a code. The team with the quickest time, won.
Kyra couldn’t successfully swing onto the middle platform and fell. So, she and Tyson could not complete the challenge. Enzo got so scared to swing onto the middle platform that he didn’t even try to do it at all. So, he and Justine could not complete the challenge. Since Enzo didn’t even try to swing to the middle platform, TJ decided to send Enzo and Justine to the elimination challenge.
Meanwhile, Desi and David ended up winning the challenge. So, they were awarded $10,000 dollars to add to their Challenge accounts. They also got to pick which team to send to the elimination challenge to face Enzo and Justine.
Justine and Enzo talked with David & Desi about who they wanted to go up against in the challenge. Enzo told them, “Just do what you gotta do. Whoever’s there, I’m going to war with. It is what it is.” Enzo said that he froze during the containment challenge, but he wants to erase that with an elimination challenge win.
At the elimination challenge, David and Desi ended choosing Derek and Shannon to compete against Enzo and Justine. David and Desi told the private cams that they didn’t want to get mixed up in anyone’s drama. So, they just went with the safe route.
In this challenge, the teams had to transfer tires from one platform to another. However, before that, the teams had to compete in a Spelling EEB. Bee is spelled backwards because the teams had to spell words backwards in this challenge. If a person got a word wrong, five tires were removed from their opponent’s stack.
Justine spelled a word wrong. So, five tires were taken off Shannon and Derek’s stack. Even with that advantage given to Shannon and Derek, Enzo and Justine were still able to pull off the victory by a very slim margin. That means poor Derek Xiao & Shannon St. Clair got eliminated in this episode. How do you guys feel about that? Let us know in the comments section.
