New 20/20 March 3, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed

Hey, “20/20” fans. We’ve got some great news for you in this article because the ABC people will be serving up another brand new episode of 20/20 for you guys tonight, March 3, 2023. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode of 20/20 will be the 22nd episode of its current season 45, and we’ve got a pretty big preview description for it.

We were able to get a hold of an official description for this new March 3, 2023 episode via ABC’s official, March 3, 2023 episode press release. So, we’re going to totally dive into it for this preview session. Let’s go.

In tonight’s new, March 3, 2023 episode, the 20/20 team is going to do the exact same story that the Dateline NBC team is doing tonight. They’re covering this Alex Murdaugh murder trial. Alex was once a prominent lawyer in the South Carolina area. Now, he’s been reduced to being accused of killing both his wife Maggie and son Paul!

Aside from that, he’s also been the subject of a ton of other shady events. When this trial finally wraps up,the jury will need to decide if Alex killed his family to distract from a ton of financial crimes he was dealing with, which includes stealing millions of dollars from his legal clients, friends and colleagues.

You guys will see interview footage with Alex’s alleged hitman, a couple of attorneys. ABC News correspondent Eva Pilgrim will interview Alex’s brothers. They’re also going to talk with friends and family members of some of the other people that turned up dead after dealing with Alex in one way or another.

ABC’s official description for tonight’s new episode of 20/20 reads like this, “It’s the mystery the whole country is talking about right now. Alex Murdaugh, the patriarch of a Southern legal dynasty, stands accused of murdering his wife and son, Maggie and Paul Murdaugh. One of the most powerful families in South Carolina, the Murdaughs made headlines in 2019 when Paul was involved in a boating accident that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Mallory Beach.

Since then, a string of unusual events has unraveled in the public eye, including the claim that Alex may have stolen funds meant for the family of his housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield, who died as the result of a trip and fall on the Murdaugh property, and an alleged assisted-suicide plot that Alex says he arranged so his surviving son could collect millions in life insurance.

With his murder trial now wrapping up, jurors have to answer this question: Did Alex murder his family to distract from his mounting financial crimes, stealing millions of dollars from legal clients, friends and colleagues? This two-hour “20/20” breaks down the gripping, ongoing trial, Alex’s not-guilty plea, and digs into the possible motives alleged by prosecutors behind these brutal murders.

“20/20” features new interviews with Curtis Eddie Smith, Alex’s alleged hired hitman from a separate incident; Aimee Zmorchek, Smith’s attorney; and Mark Tinsley, the Beach family attorney. It also includes footage from ABC News correspondent Eva Pilgrim’s interview with Alex’s brothers, Randy and John Marvin Murdaugh.

The program features interviews with Renee and Philip Beach, who open up about the loss of their daughter, Mallory; Ginger Hadwin, Eric Harriott Jr. and Scott Harriott, siblings of Gloria Satterfield; and Brian Harriott and Michael “Tony” Satterfield, Satterfield’s sons.”

ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be brand new tonight, March 3, 2023, and it’s scheduled to arrive at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
