Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back in action ,today, with some more great news for you guys because ABC will indeed give you another new episode of 20/20 tonight, May 12, 2023. Tonight’s new episode will be the 31st installment for 20/20’s current season 45, and we’ve got some new preview info for it.
ABC was awesome enough to serve up an official press release for tonight’s new, May 12, 2023 edition. So, we will certainly use it as a source for this spoiler session. Let’s get into it.
In tonight’s new, May 12, 2023 episode, the 20/20 team is going to take a deep look at a story about a serial killer named Scott Kimball. He acted like he was an FBI informant and concealed terrible crimes. Way back in 2003, the 19 year old daughter of a woman named Lori McLeod went missing.
Her daughter’s boyfriend Scott Kimball showed up claiming to be with the FBI and could help her find her daughter. Three years later, investigators got tipped off to Scott Kimball via a check fraud investigation, which eventually led them to find out that Scott was actually the killer of Lori McLeod’s daughter!
American correspondent John Quinones is going to report on this case and explore Scott’s huge web of deceit and all the evidence that links Scott to multiple accounts of murder. Some of these murders he actually committed when he was an FBI informant.
This episode will feature interviews with Scott Kimball’s sons Cody and Justin, who share disturbing claims about Kimball’s alleged violence towards his own family, which Kimball denies, and Jimmy Tanksley, a former cellmate who initially agreed to help Kimball with a daring escape plan from prison, but instead alerted authorities to the plan, Kimball’s ex-wife Larissa and former FBI Special Agent Carle Schlaff, who used Kimball as an informant, parents of Kimball’s victims and federal and local investigators who helped recover the bodies and bring Kimball to justice.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, May 12, 2023 episode of 20/20 reads like this, “When her 19-year-old daughter went missing in 2003, Lori McLeod believed her boyfriend, Scott Kimball, who told her he worked for the FBI, could help find her daughter.
Three years later, what began as a check fraud investigation led officials to a shocking conclusion: the very man McLeod trusted to find her daughter was actually her killer. In a new “20/20,” ABC News correspondent John Quiñones unpacks Kimball’s secret life of horrific crimes, exploring his elaborate web of deception and the evidence linking Kimball to multiple murders, some of them committed while he was an FBI informant.”
ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be brand new again tonight, May 12, 2023, and it’s going to hit your TV sets at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
