Survivor March 12 Voted Off Justin Pioppi In History Making Fashion (Recap)

Earlier tonight, March 12, 2025, CBS aired another new episode of Survivor’s current season 48, and another unlucky contestant got voted off in history-making fashion at the end of it.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with footage of the Vula tribe talking about their last tribal council meeting, which sent Kevin Leung packing. Mary told the private cams, “Tonight, I didn’t have a vote, and I’m just grateful I’m still here.”

Cedrek told Mary she’s fine in this game. Mary told him she definitely feels like she’s on the bottom. Sai told the private cams, “I feel weary of Cedrek and Justin by the way the votes played out. I’m going to have to find another idol or something.”

At Lagi, Shaughin told the private cams, “Joe is my number one in this game. I’m betting that Star goes home first from our tribe.”

Thomas told the private cams, “I’m nervous about Joe and Eva’s bond. We might have to cut her. This is troublesome. Sorry Eva.”

At Vula, Mary and Sai went looking for an immunity idol. Sai made it a point to keep following Mary to make sure she couldn’t find it. Mary thought it was fun that Sai kept following her. Sai told the private cams, “I actually respect Mary as being a good player in this game.”

At Civa, Mitch told the private cams,”I wanna work with Charity.” Charity reciprocated that desire. They also mentioned that they want to keep Kyle and David around as shields for them.

Kyle told the private cams that he was happy about Mitch talking with him about game for the first time because he felt that put him in a good position to play both side of the tribe.

Eva told Star, “We need to get rid of one of the puzzlers.” Star told the private cams, “Eva is just scrambling now. I don’t trust her.” So, Star told Bianca all about how Eva wants to get rid of the puzzlers. Bianca told the private cams, “I want to work with Star. I think she trusts me.” Thomas pitched to Star that he wants to get rid of Eva, and she agreed with it.

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with a new immunity challenge. During it, one tribemember had to be a caller for the other tribemembers who were blindfolded. The Caller told the blindfolded tribemembers where to go to get bags of keys and how to complete a puzzle for the win.

Lagi took the first place win, and Civa took the second place win. So, Vula lost again for the 3rd straight time and had to figure out who else to vote off at the next tribal council meeting.

Also, it was revealed that it was time for another 3 people to go on a journey. Lagi got to choose who went from each tribe. Bianca went for Lagi. Lagi chose Justin to go for Vula, and Kamilla for Civa.

This immunity challenge also doubled as a reward challenge. The prize was a large tarp for the Lagi first place winners, and a small tarp for the Civa second place winners.

Mary told the private cams that she’s just going to pretend she has an idol by relaxing and taking a swim. Sai kinda fell for Mary’s act and started suggesting to Cedrek that they split their votes in case Mary has an idol. Cedrek told the private cams,”I don’t want to split the votes because I would have to put Justin’s name down, and I don’t think Mary has an idol.”

At the journey, Kamilla, Bianca and Justin got hit with a challenge for an advantage. If they lost the challenge, they lost their vote at their next tribal council meeting. The challenge was a total game of chance because it entailed just rolling dice. If they landed on four skulls before they got 4 flames, they lost.

Bianca lost and lost her vote at next tribal council. Kamilla won and won an extra vote advantage at next tribal council. Justin lost and lost his vote at next tribal council.

Camilla told her tribe that she did win the extra vote advantage. Bianca lied to her tribe about losing her vote, but she did confess it to Thomas.

At Vula, Justin lied to his tribe about losing his vote. Sai, Justin and Cedrek appeared to agree to put all three of their votes on Mary. However, Sai told the private cams that she had doubts and was still contemplating throwing her vote on Justin.

At the Vula tribal council meeting, they did some general game talk. Sai and Mary went back and forth a little bit before casting their votes. Mary played her shot in the dark before the votes were read, and she did get the safe card. So, all votes against her did not count.

Mary got 2 votes that did not count. So, they had to revote, but they could not vote for Mary. In the first revote, Sai got 1, and Justin got 1 vote. So, it was another tie because Justin didn’t have a vote. Jeff had to reveal that Justin lost his vote, which is why it kept coming up a tie.

Then, they did another revote. In the second revote, Sai got 1 vote, and Juston got 1 vote again. So, Jeff told Cedrek he had to be the one to decide whether Justin or Sai goes home. If he couldn’t, he had to go.

Cedrek said he made a connection with Justin first. Sai pleaded with Cedrek saying, “I’ve been nothing but honest with you. Justin lied.” The begging and pleading worked as Cedrek decided to vote off Justin if Sai and Mary agreed to cut the negative energy and work together. So, Justin got voted off. He was a good sport about it.

Justin told the private cams, “A historic tribal council sealed my fate. I have no one to blame but myself. I got burned. I just wish I could’ve lasted a little bit longer.”
