Top critics gave new Paranormal Activity 2 movie mixed reviews. Paramount Pictures released their new horror,thriller,sequel flick “Paranormal Activity 2” into theaters today,and the top movie critics seemed to be pretty mixed on it,giving it B and C ratings. The movie was directed by Kip Williams.

Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a C-. He said, “There are six speaking roles, not counting the non-speaking baby and the dog. Good odds, you’d think, that at least one of them would have something interesting to say, but no.”

Peter Paras at E! Online gave it a B-. He stated, “the last act ends up delivering, with terrifying moments that raise the bar for modern horror.” Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B+. He said, “It made me jump, sweat, and chew my fingernails.” Read more »

New Bruce Willis ‘Red’ movie delivered great action & a good story. Summit Entertainment released their new action/drama flick “Red” into theaters today. I just checked it out,and was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it turned out to be. It delivered a lot of good action,drama,and a pretty good storyline. It stars: Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban, Mary-Louise Parker, Brian Cox, Julian McMahon, and Richard Dreyfuss.

“Red” movie revolved around character Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) who is a retired black op CIA agent that suddenly gets a death target on his back from the organization he used to work for. However, he displays that he’s still fully capable of taking care of himself. Unfortunately, he’s dragged a girl he likes into the situation. Now, he has to drag her along with him until he can find out why he and a lot of people he knows are a target for murder. Read more »

‘Jackass 3D’ movie delivered lots of shocking,disgusting stunts. Paramount Pictures released their new reality flick “Jackass 3D” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and was very shocked at some of the stunts they pulled. I mean some of them were just outright gross. They definitely went more for the nasty stuff in this one. The movie stars: Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Steve-O, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, Chris Pontius, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Ehren McGhehey.

In “Jackass 3D,” all the crazy boys from the first two original Jackass movies returned to the big screen to shock us with more crazy violent,disturbing,and just outright nasty stunts. As usual Johnny Knoxville showed up in most of the scenes. They also threw in some acting skits in between the stunts. One skit consisted of Jason “Wee Man” Acura getting into a bar fight with another midget. Then they had midget cops and paramedics come in to freak everyone out. Read more »

Top critics gave new ‘Red’ movie OK reviews. Summit Entertainment released their new action/comedy flick “Red” into theaters today,and the top movie critics seemed to give it just OK reviews with a couple of B and C ratings. Ty Burr at the Boston Globe gave it a C rating. He said, “What might have been a guilty-pleasure romp is hobbled by poor direction, sloppy pacing, and a story line that can’t decide whether it’s farce or a retread.”

It features actors we like doing things we wish were more interesting.” Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune gave it a B-. Paramount Pictures released their new reality/comedy flick “Jackass 3D” into theaters today,and the top critics gave it pretty mixed reviews with Bs,Cs,Ds,and even an F. The movie stars: Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Steve-O, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, Chris Pontius, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Ehren McGhehey.

Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B rating. He said, ‘More than ever, Johnny Knoxville and his boys belong to a very elite club of idiocy. They martyr themselves for our diversion, driven at every moment to ask: Are you not entertained?”

Justin Chang at Variety gave it a B. He said, “A joyous, liberated approach to comedy, a genuine sense of the grotesque and pacing so relentless that even the less-than-uproarious bits don’t overstay their welcome.” Read more »

‘My Soul To Take’ movie delivered tons of twists,horror & suspense. Rogue Pictures released their new horror/thriller flick into theaters this weekend. I checked it out yesterday,and was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it was. The top critics got shut out from pre-screening the movie,so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The movie stars: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Emily Meade, Nick Lashaway, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, Paulina Olszyinski, and Raul Esparza.

“My Soul To Take” movie revolved around character Bug (Max Thieriot). He was a part of a group of 7 kids who were born on the same day that a serial killer died. It was said that his soul was supposed to enter into one of those seven kids after he died,and that he would kill all of those kids one by one. As the movie went along,the murdering began,but the killer wore a mask so he couldn’t be recognized. Also, Bug was the son of the serial killer. Read more »

Top movie critic gave new ‘My Soul To Take’ movie negative reviews. Rogue Pictures released their new action/thriller flick “My Soul To Take” into theaters today,and all the top critics were shut out from pre-screening it.

However, we were able to get one from Frank Scheck over at the Hollywood Reporter, and he didn’t really have to many good things to say about it. The movie stars: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Emily Meade, Nick Lashaway, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, Paulina Olszyinski, and Raul Esparza.

Frank Scheck at the Hollywood Reporter said, Unfortunately, neither the Riverton Ripper nor his faceless successor is likely to compete with Freddy Krueger in iconic horror-movie villain terms, and the overall proceedings lack the wit and style that marked the best of the “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream” series. Top critics gave new ‘Life As We Know It’ movie mediocre reviews. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new romantic/comedy flick “Life As We Know It” into theaters today,and the movie critics didn’t appear all that impressed with it,giving it mediocre reviews. The movie stars: Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel, Josh Lucas, Christina Hendricks,and Hayes MacArthur.

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a C rating. He said, “the kind of date-night fluff that Hollywood regularly cranks out to keep the suburban multiplexes and Netflix queues humming. Pure product.”

New ‘Case 39’ movie delivered lots of suspense,twists & thrills. Paramount Vantage released their new mystery/thriller flick “Case 39” into theaters this weekend. I checked it out last night,and was pretty damn impressed with it. It delivered some great twists,along with really suspenseful scenes. The movie stars: Renée Zellweger, Jodelle Ferland, Ian McShane, Bradley Cooper, Kerry O’Malley, Callum Keith Rennie, Adrian Lester, Georgia Craig, and Cynthia Stevenson.

“Case 39” movie revolved around characters Emily Jenkins (Renee Zellweger) and Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland). Emily is a social worker who takes Lilith’s case to check up on how she’s doing with her parents. They appear to be very strange and sets off red flags with Emily. So, she keeps a close eye on Lilith,and eventually rescues her from being killed by her parents. Read more »

New ‘Let Me In’ movie delivered unique,suspenseful,vampire drama. Overture Films released their new drama/horror flick “Let Me In” into theaters this weekend. I checked it out yesterday,and I thought that the movie delivered a very unique story about a vampire girl. It was more like a drama than a horror flick,and that aspect really made it interesting and different. The movie stars: Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloe Moretz, Richard Jenkins, Elias Koteas, Cara Buono,and Sasha Barrese.

“Let Me In” revolved around character Owen (Kodi Smith-McPhee) who is an awkward 12 year old boy that doesn’t have many friends,and gets picked on a lot at school. He eventually meets a strange 12 year old girl named Abby (Chloe Moretz) who has just moved into his apartment complex,next door to him.

Contrary to her initial wishes, they eventually develop a unique friendship. Unfortunately,Abby is not who she appears to be as she’s really a vampire that needs blood to live. She lives with a man who appears to be her father,but is really her blood hunter. Once he’s fazed out of the picture,Abby has to hunt her own blood. Read more »
