Rafael Nadal beat out Andy Murray at Wimbledon in straight sets today. 2008 Wimbledon Champion Rafael Nadal beat out Andy Murray in his semi-final round match at Wimbledon today in straight sets to make it to another Wimbledon final,and with Roger Federer out of the picture, it looks like a sure win for Rafael this year. However, anything can happen in tennis.

Tomas Berdych beat out Roger Federer at Wimbledon today in 4 sets. According to the New York Times, long time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer got beat today in just 4 sets in his quarterfinal match against Tomas Berdych. They say that Roger blamed injuries for the loss,and failed to credit his opponent for beating him.

Tennis Star Jennifer Capriati rushed to hospital for drug overdose. According to TMZ, former number one ranked tennis player in the world Jennifer Capriati was recently rushed to the hospital this morning due to an alleged drug overdose. They say that the paramedics responded to a call for a possible overdose. The call came from a hotel in Riviera Beach,Florida. Jennifer was then transported to a nearby hospital.
Her father revealed that she’s recovering well from the incident. Jennifer Capriati won 14 career titles,including three Grand Slam tournaments,which include the 2001 French Open,the 2001 and 2002 Australian Open. She also won the gold metal in the 1992 Olympic Games. Read the rest of this entry »
WWE’s Batista halts MMA ‘Strikeforce’ deal due to money issues. According to TMZ, former WWE wrestler Dave Batista has halted the deal to become an MMA fighter with “Strikeforce” due to some money issues. They say that Batista has not signed a contract with them yet,and is halting it due to money.
Batista and Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker have reached an agreement on most of the details in their contract,but Batista’s salary is still a major issue. Dave Batista quit the WWE to become an MMA fighter. According to TMZ, former WWE superstar Dave Batista recently quit the WWE after his contract ran out,and is now going to become an MMA fighter. They say that Dave Batista who is a former six-time WWE heavyweight champion of the world, will now be fighting for real for an MMA company called “Strikeforce.”
However, there are other reports saying that he has not signed with “Strikeforce” yet. So, it still has not been confirmed whether he will be joining the UFC or Strikeforce at this time. The TMZ cameras (video below) recently caught up to Batista this past weekend in Hollywood,California where he revealed to them that he would indeed be an MMA fighter,and already has his first fight lined up. Former NBA player Manute Bol died earlier today. According to TMZ, former NBA star Manute Bol died earlier today due to kidney failure. They say that Manute was hospitalized in Virginia back in May of this year after suffering acute kidney failure. Manute Bol was 47 years old,and best known for being one of the tallest players to ever play in the NBA.
He played in the NBA from 1985-1994,and was one of the best shot blockers in the league. Manute was very involved in charities in his native Sudan. He donated an estimated $3.5 million to help aid Sudanese refugees. Manute Bol stood at 7 feet 7 inches,and weighed in at 225 pounds. Read the rest of this entry »
Los Angeles Lakers won the 2010 NBA Finals tonight over the Celtics. Earlier tonight, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Boston Celtics by a score of 83-79 to take home the 2010 NBA Finals Championship title once again. It was a close series as it came down to a final decisive game 7 with a very close score to cap off the game.
It couldn’t have played out any better especially for TV networks. They sure got their money’s worth out of this NBA finals series. Kobe Bryant scored 23 points for the Lakers tonight,and Ron Artest helped out big with an additional 20 points for the Lakers. Read the rest of this entry »
Justine Henin beat Maria Sharapova in ‘French Open’ 3rd round today. After playing a very grueling two set match yesterday to end up tied 1 set to 1, Justine Henin and Maria Sharapova took to the court again today to complete their 3rd round, 2010 “French Open” match since it got suspended last night. In the beginning of the 3rd set, things were looking bad for Justine as Maria immediately broke Justine’s new less consistent serve.

Justine Henin took to the 2010 French Open tennis court today in Roland Garros against another former champion Maria Sharapova in the 3rd round. Justine jumped off to a strong start,taking the first three games,by immediately breaking Maria’s first and 2nd service games. Justine hit a lot of powerful serves,along with strong groundies,giving us a glimpse of what her new grass game will look like as she really wants to win a Wimbledon major. On top of Google trends today is Venus Williams provocative, nighty type outfit that she’s sporting at this year’s French Open tennis tournament,and it’s causing some online controversy. According to the Huffington Post, Venus won her match today over Patty Schnyder in convincing fashion with a score of 6-3,6-3. However that’s not what most people were interested in.
