Chicago Bears’ Gaines Adams died today and autopsy Is scheduled. According to TMZ, Chicago Bears’ Gaines Adams died earlier this morning after being rushed to the emergency room. They say the Chicago Bears defensive end Gaines Adams died this morning in South Carolina at age 26. He was rushed to the emergency room at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina,and they declared he was dead at about 9am this morning.

An autopsy on the body is being scheduled for later on today. The autopsy will be performed by the Anderson County forensic pathologist. Some early reports say that he might have suffered a heart attack,but of course, we won’t know for sure until they perform the autopsy later on today. Stay tuned.

Gaines Adams was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Read the rest of this entry »

Jim Mora gets fired by the Seattle Seahawks after one season. According to the New York Times, the Seattle Seahawks fired coach Jim Mora after just one injury-filled season. Jim Mora was designated as Mike Holmgren’s successor well before he stepped down after the 2008 season. Jim Mora is the third coach to get fired in the NFL this season. The Seahawks are reportedly interviewing general manager candidates. The Seattle Times reported that the decision to fire Jim Mora came directly from Paul Allen who is the owner of the team.

The Seattle Seahawks finished this season with a 5-11 record,which was a game better than their 2008 record,but they finished this season with four consecutive losses,and lost by a combined score of 123-37,making them very uncompetitive. Coach Jim Leavitt gets fired for allegedly hitting a player. According to Fox news, South Florida coach, Jim Leavitt has been fired due to allegedly hitting one of his players. They report that he was fired after an investigation took place over allegations that he struck one of his players in the locker room.

Jim Leavitt confirmed his dismissal by telling the Associated Press that he was disappointed,and that the allegations are absolutely false. The USF would not confirm Leavitt’s dismissal.However, Lara Wade who is a spokeswoman for the university said all questions will be answered when the school releases a report later on today. Wizard’s Gilbert Arenas gets suspended from NBA for shotguns incident. According to TMZ, the NBA has decided to suspend the Washington Wizards’ star guard, Gilbert Arenas for bringing shotguns into the Verizon Center and allegedly getting into a standoff with his teammate Javaris Crittenton.

They say his suspension is indefinite,and the NBA commissioner David Stern delivered a statement on the situation stating, “Although it is clear that the actions of Mr. Arenas will ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhaps worse, his ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game … Accordingly, I am suspending Mr. Arenas indefinitely, without pay, effective immediately pending the completion of the investigation by the NBA.” Read the rest of this entry »

Andre “The Hawk” Dawson gets elected to Pro Baseball’s Hall Of Fame. According to ESPN, right fielder/center fielder, Andre Dawson has been elected to pro Baseball’s “Hall of Fame.” He was nicknamed “The Hawk,” and played for four teams throughout his career from 1976 to 1996. He spent ten years with the Montreal Expos,five years with Chicago Cubs. Then he played for the Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins before he retired at the end of the 1996 season. He received his first World Series ring in 2003 as a member of the Florida Marlins front office. He’s currently a special assistant to the Marlins president.

He was also an 8-time National League All-Star. He was named the league’s “Rookie Of the Year” back in 1977. He won the “Most Valuable Player” award in 1987 after he led the league with 49 home runs that year. He was also runner-up for MVP in 1981 and 1983. Read the rest of this entry »

Sportscaster, Rory Markas died yesterday at age 54. According to Sports Illustrated, former Los Angeles, play-by-play sportscaster, Rory Markas has died at age 54. They say he was found dead in his home in Palmdale,California yesterday,and the cause of his death is currently not available. The Angels spokesman, Tim Mead said, “Markas had surgery for a blood clot on his brain in late 2008.”

Rory Markas was with the Angels from 1994 to 1997. He also did broadcasts for the Milwaukee Brewers,Los Angeles Clippers,University of Southern California men’s basketball,and Pacific Coast League baseball. The Cougars got beat down in the Armed Forces Bowl. According to the Houston Chronicle, the Cougars took a mean beatdown from the Air Force Falcons in today’s Armed Forces Bowl. They took an agonizing 47-20 loss. They say UH quarterback, Case Keenum threw six interception passes,which was a career high for him,and could send his NFL draft stock way down. The Courgars’ defense was also unable to stop the Air Force’s powerful rushing attack.

The Cougars missed out on their chance to get their first 11 win season since 1979,and to finish the season in The Associated Press’ Top 25. The Air Force finished the season 8-5 and got revenge on UH for beating them in last year’s Armed Forces Bowl in a 34-28 loss. Read the rest of this entry »

Texas Tech’s Mike Leach gets fired for mistreating a player.According to ABC news, Texas Tech University football coach, Mike Leach got fired earlier today due to allegations of mistreating one of his players.They say he was about to receive an $800,000 dollar bonus tomorrow,and also signed a $12.7 million dollar contract for five years earlier this year. However, now he will just receive a severance package of $400,000 annually for the next four years.

He also got fired just days before his Red Raiders team is scheduled to play Michigan State in the nationally televised Alama Bowl game. The university had initially suspended Mike Leach,but he decided to fight back by hiring an attorney to challenge his suspension. Read the rest of this entry »

Urban Meyer announced he’s quitting as Florida Gators football Coach. The New York Times reports that Florida Coach, Urban Meyer made the announcement earlier today that he is stepping down as coach due to health reasons. This will end his career with the Florida Gators after the Sugar Bowl on January 1.

Urban Meyer has been one of the most successful coaches in modern college football,winning two of the past three national titles with the Gators. Steve McClain who is a Florida spokesman said the Urban Meyer’s problem is more about stress. He stated, “It’s not like he’s been diagnosed with a disease,” McClain said. “It’s related to his ability to handle the stress. He only knows one way to go.” Read the rest of this entry »

Celtic’s Ray Allen Twitter account gets hacked & sends naughty tweets. The Huffington Post is reporting that Boston Celtic’s shooting guard, Ray Allen’s “Twitter” account was hacked,and then naughty tweets were sent from it. The tweets read like this: “I’m getting there. When you masturbate think about my tongue or your cl*t and switching back and forth from my d**k to my tongue.”

The tweets got deleted later on,and 14 minutes later, another tweet showed up stating an apology,and claiming he was not responsible. It read like this: “I’m sorry my acct was hacked into.
