As we reported last night, Kanye West rudely interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech last night when she accepted her award for “Best Female Video” at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Then later on, Beyonce allowed Taylor to come onstage to finish her speech when she won her award.

Now, MTV reports at around the same time, Kanye wrote a blog post on his blog,apologizing to Taylor for his actions.

He wrote, “I’m sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said. She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she’s in the bleachers! I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment! Read the rest of this entry »

Jay-Z arrived late to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. He pulled up in a limousine at Radio City Music Hall about 2 hours after the show started. He closed out the show performing an ode to New York with a song entitled, “Empire State of Mind” (video below) from his latest album entitled, “The Blueprint 3.” He performed it with R&B star, Alicia Keys. Images of the Bronx Bombers stadium flashed behind Jay-Z as he rapped.

Jay-Z rapped the lyrics, “Yeah, I’m up at Brooklyn, now I’m down in Tribeca.Right next to De Niro, but I’ll be ‘hood forever/ I’m the new Sinatra and since I made it here/ I can make it anywhere, yeah, they love me everywhere.” Read the rest of this entry »

Janet Jackson gave a huge, incredible live performance (video below) at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards tonight to pay tribute to her “King Of Pop” brother, Michael Jackson who unfortunately passed away in June.

The performance started off with other dancers performing to Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller,” “Beat It,” “Smooth Criminal,” “Bad,” and then Janet came out to perform the last song entitled, “Scream,” which was a duet that her and Michael did a long time ago. Read the rest of this entry »

Country music star, Taylor Swift won the award for “Best Female Video” tonight at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.It was presented to her by Twilight,New Moon,and Eclipse star, Taylor Lautner and pop singer Shakira.

Taylor went on stage to accept it,and after she said a few words, rapstar Kanye West very rudely cuts in and says “I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish. But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.” It cut to a shocked Beyonce in the crowd,saying “Oh My Gosh.”

According to MTV, Janet Jackson is set to lead a tribute to her deceased, pop icon brother, Michael Jackson at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday. They report that she’ll open the show by honoring her brother’s career which was intertwined with the rise of MTV, back in the early 80′s.

They also say that choreographer Frank Gaston will not be involved in the tribute,after there had been rumors going around that he would be involved.

MTV is now reporting that an exclusive new extended “New Moon” movie trailer will be presented at the 2009 “MTV Video Music Awards.” The three main stars, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson,and Taylor Lautner are scheduled to show up and present it.

They presented the first “New Moon” trailer at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year,but MTV isn’t done with them yet,and now it’s shaping up to be an incredible night on September 13.

Also MTV is set to premiere the first single off the “New Moon” soundtrack entitled “Meet Me on the Equinox” by the group “Death Cab For Cutie.” The soundtrack is set to release on October 20,just a full month before the movie comes out. Then Russell sees that Britney might show up again this year. Britney wonders if he’ll invite her personally, since they’re such good friends, and all. She wonders if she should’ve played it up more when he was flirting with her last year.She admits there is something sexy about his dangerous face.

MTV has announced that superstar R&B singer, Beyonce Knowles is set to perform her latest single entitled “Sweet Dreams” at the upcoming 2009 “MTV Video Music Awards.”

Beyonce is also tied with Lady Gaga for the most nominations at nine a piece. Other performers that are on tap to perform are : Jay-Z, Green Day, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga. Also rapper Wale will be performing with the band UCB who is the official “house band” at the Video Music Awards.
