Today, daytime talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres announced that she is going to be the new “American Idol” judge that replaces Paula Abdul in season 9. She said she couldn’t say anything for a long time,.and then today, she just go the “ok” to share it with her audience on her show.

She said they chose her to judge because she would be someone who would look at it from a consumer’s perspective,or as someone who would actually be buying the music.

She said she would not be leaving her daytime show. She’s going to have a day job and a night job. She said she had been dying to tell everyone,and that she got the “ok” to do it,today. She stated that she’s so excited,and that it will be so much fun. So, be looking for Ellen DeGeneres on season 9 of American Idol.

According Access Hollywood, the brutally honest British “American Idol” judge, Simon Cowell said he was feeling her absence on his first day at the “American Idol” judges table.

He stated, “I’m going to miss her. She’s my buddy” before heading into “American Idol” season 9 auditions in Denver,Co. He said that he has spoken to Paula everyday since she announced the news, that she wasn’t returning to the show.

Simon said that Paula is keeping her head high. He said, “Paula has been very cool about the whole thing. And let me tell you, Paula is going to be fine.”

Randy Jackson also felt bad about Paula’s departure from the show. He said, “We all love her. I think I may cry today.It’s weird.”

Kara DioGuardi, the new female judge who has just signed back on for season 9, said she dressed in dark colors to mark Paula’s absence. She stated, “I am so missing Paula. That’s why I’m in black — mourning.I’m very sad. I talked to her last week. She’s sad, but it was her choice.”

It’s official. Access Hollywood reports that Paula Abdul has decided to leave “American Idol.” They said she posted the following on her “Twitter” page, “With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #Idol,” she posted on her Twitter page. “I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent,but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon.”

FOX also confirmed the announcement with an announcement of their own , “Paula Abdul has been an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”

It’s reported that Paula left “American Idol” due to money issues. She was reportedly asking for $20 million a year to return to the show,and “American Idol” was reportedly willing to offer her half that amount. So it looks like she may have gotten a little greedy because in my book, $10 million a year is more than enough cash for her.

However, “American Idol” won’t totally be without a female judge for season nine, as the recently new female judge Kara DioGuardi will be returning.

Kara DioGuardi who joined the “American Idol” judges last season has reportedly struck her deal to return to American Idol’s ninth season. Access Hollywood said a source told them, “Her deal is done. There are no ifs, ands or buts.”

This news comes on the heels of Ryan Seacrest, the show’s host having struck a deal for $45 million over a three year period, making him the highest paid reality host on TV.

Also it’s being reported after some unsettling news coming from Paula Abdul’s camp, that she is back in negotiations with “American Idol” to come back,but she says she won’t return unless her deal is fair. It’s been reported that she’s looking to get paid $20 million a year.

Paula’s Manager David Sonenberg recently stated, “She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry.” Because at the time, she had not yet received a contract proposal from “Idol.”

We reported yesterday that two-time former “American Idol” contestant Alexis Cohen was murdered on Saturday morning July 26,2009 by an apparent hit and run driver.

Her body was then found hours later by someone passing by. Now, E! online is reporting that the New Jersey Police have already found the culprit. They report that it is 23 year old Daniel Bark. He was charged with causing Cohen’s death by reckless driving and leaving the scene of the accident.

He is currently being held in New Jersey’s Ocean County Jail on $35,000 bail. If he is convicted,he could face up to 15 years in prison. Is it me, or does that not sound like enough ?

They also reported that the police said she may have been returning to her car when she was hit since it was just 350 yards away. They said her death was likely the result of vehicular homicide due to her abdominal,chest,and head injuries.

The Ocean County Deputy Chief Prosecutor Michael Mohel said that an extensive investigation led them to the arrest of Daniel Bark.

Wow, I think it’s amazing how quickly they were able to find him. I wonder what clues led them to find him.

In a very sad turn of events, it’s been reported that the former, offbeat American Idol Contestant Alexis Cohen from Allentown,Pennsylvania was hit by a car early Saturday morning July 25,2009 in New Jersey.

She apparently was a victim of a hit and run accident. It’s also reported that she was found lying on a road in Seaside Heights,New Jersey by someone who passed by at about 4:00 am on Saturday morning.

The person called 911,and she was taken to a Community Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 6:30 am. They performed an autopsy which revealed that she died from injuries to her chest,abdomen,and head which she incurred from getting hit by the vehicle.

She had auditioned for American Idol in season 7 and this past season 8. She was 25 years old,and was in college to become a veterinarian. When she auditioned for American Idol,she failed to receive her ticket to Hollywood on both occasions.

She also apparently didn’t take the news very well when she was rejected as evidenced by the video below. She had an angry fit when she left the audition room, mostly about Simon.

She told told him to kiss her ass. The video also made it’s way around the web when it happened.

It’s very sad when any tragedy like this happens,and we regret to have to report it.

Access Hollywood reports that Paula Abdul is very hurt and upset about what’s going on with “American Idol” negotiations right now. Her manager David Sonenberg claimed that she might not return to the show, in a Los Angeles Times interview.

He said, “She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry.” . He also said that he hasn’t yet received a new contract proposal for Paula. He stated , “I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful.I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”

As a result of these stalled negotiations, David said that she’s unlikely to return to the show. He made the following statement, “Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol.’”

It’s reported that Paula also wrote comments about this situation on her “Twitter” page on Saturday July 18,2009. She said, ”I’m actually moved 2 tears upon reading the enormous amount of tweets showing me your kindness, love, & undying support. God bless all of you!,” she Tweeted. “If it weren’t for you, this specific time and situation would feel a whole lot worse!”

It doesn’t appear to be a coincidence that this news came not to long after Ryan Seacrest just sealed a deal with “American Idol” for $45 million over 3 years which makes him the highest paid reality host on TV. Simon Cowell is also in negotiations to renew his contract. While Randy Jackson is set to go through 2011.

That does sound odd that they would treat Paula like that especially when she’s been with the show since the beginning. They better step it up, if they want to keep her. Who knows ? Maybe they have a huge deal in store for her. They better, or else she’s out.

According to my sources American Idol’s brutally honest judge Simon Cowell has made recent statements that he might leave the show when his contract ends after season nine.

The British media has reported that he currently is demanding over $100 million per year to stay on longer, which is why there have been reports going around that he could actually be getting paid that much after he works out his new deal with FOX.

Randy Jackson,Paula Abdul,and Kara DioGuardi, the other three judges all have said that they hope to close their deals for season nine pretty soon. Although the “American Idol” ratings have gone down in recent years,it is still the highest rated show on television by a huge margin.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Seacrest, the host of Fox’s hit reality talent show “American Idol’ closed a major three year deal with CKX who is the parent company of “American Idol” producers, 19 Entertainment.

The deal will pay him $15 million per year for three years. This agreement is believed to make Ryan the highest ever payed reality TV show host. Ryan will be exclusive to CKX in the broadcast TV primetime. He will host “American Idol” or any other CKX produced show that might develop.

This contract which has been in negotiations for the past several weeks, triples his previous salary which wasn’t at all shabby at just under $5 million a year. The new Ryan Seacrest agreement is expected to be announced more publicly later on today July 13,2009.

This three year deal will give CKX exclusive rights to Ryan Seacrest’s on camera services for network TV. He also has a separate cable deal with Comcast,and he is the lead anchor for E! Entertainment. He also is the producer for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, and ABC’s new upcoming Jamie Oliver reality show.

Next, the “American Idol” producers will be working on the judge’s contracts for season nine.

Hollywood Reporter claims that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is currently finishing up a contract extension with “American Idol” co-producer 19 Entertainment to continue hosting the show.

They say the agreement is believed to be for another three years,and would give him a pay raise that could make him one of the highest paid reality tv show hosts. They say he already made slightly less than a $5 million last season for doing “Idol” which breaks down to about $100,000 per episode.

They also report that he could possibly be developing a new series with “Idol” creator Simon Fuller. Ryan is expected to finish up his “Idol” contract on Monday July 13,2009.

Ryan has also been producing “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated,” and ABC’s new upcoming show starring Jamie Oliver.
