Recently I made a post about TVgrapvine.com posting an interview with Robin Kass who is the director of casting on the CBS Big Brother reality show. One of the finalist from the auditions out in Los Angeles was kind enough to share his experience when commenting on the post. The finalist was Jonathan James Tibbs. He left two comments. They were a couple of hours apart. Here they are:

Tvgrapevine.com recently got a chance to give Robyn Kass of Kassting Inc. which is the casting company and director of Big Brother 11,a 15 minute interview.She talked about how the promo dept has nothing to do with what really goes on behind the scenes, so the promo commercials are just a lot of hype.

She also states that this year’s contestants that she interviewed were great,and are some of the best characters she’s seen. She says the contestants that come in, really know the game,and come in with a game plan already set. They spoke about how what they saw from Dan Gheesling (Big Brother 10 Winner) last year was what they expected to see. According to my sources,Gretchen Massey the host of “House Calls” stated on her Myspace page that the Big Brother talk show has been canceled for the Big Brother 11 season do to the fact that it couldn’t find a sponsor. The show started back in 2004 during the “Big Brother 5″ season and was then hosted by Gretchen Massey and Marcellas Reynolds from “Big Brother 3″. The two of them hosted it for two seasons. Then after that, Gretchen hosted it with other houseguests from past shows.

The show had become very popular on the internet,and drew a large crowd of online viewers who would call in and give their opinions. Gretchen would also have an interview with each houseguest that got evicted each week which was a real highlight for fans of the show. Read the rest of this entry »

Recently CBS entertainment announced that their new 11th season of Big Brother will be starting on Thursday July 9,2009 at 7pm central time. And then starting Sunday July 12,2009 7pm central time. It will air 3 days a week on Tuesdays at 8pm central time,Thursdays (live eviction night) at 7pm central time,and then of course right back around again on Sunday at 7pm central time.

Here is their latest promo that they have released for the new season. It doesn’t reveal any cast members yet,but it’s still sort of exciting ,anyways. The official CBS Big Brother Facebook page confirmed the news today that the official start date for Big Brother 11 will be on Thursday July 9,2009 at 8pm eastern time. Then, the show will air three nights a week starting on Sunday July 12,2009 at 8pm eastern time. It will air on Sundays,Tuesdays,and then on Thursdays with the Live eviction show hosted by a this year, pregnant Julie Chen.

Big Brother is a show where 14 houseguests are picked to live in a house for three months without any communication with the outside world,and each week a house guest is voted out for whatever reason. It also involves competitions for “Head of household” and “Power of Veto” which help to keep whoever wins them in the game for another week. It’s full of antics, fun, and drama with a 2 hour live internet feed which I personally love to watch,and I’m gonna try and cover as much of it as I can right here at ontheflix.com. I found this promo for Big Brother 11 which came out a little over a month ago from the CBS “Early Show”. It features of course, Julie Chen giving an interview to Robyn Kass who is the casting director for CBS Big Brother, Mike Boogie the winner of “Big brother 7 All-Stars” and Big Brother 2 Contestant,and Brian Hart who was the quickly ousted first contestant of Big Brother 10.

Mike Boogie explains his experience on the show, and states that it’s a lot harder than it looks. Brian also follows suit with the same sort of comments. Then casting director, Robyn Kass goes on to explain what she looks for when casting a contestant for the show. The show is heading into it’s 11th season after having two successful back to back seasons last year do to the writer’s strike. They had one in the fall and summer of 2008. Now, this year they got back to just the summer season.

CBS has announced that Big Brother 11 will air but not until the summer of 2009. Due to the writer’s strike that occured earlier in 2008 CBS gave Big Brother the opportunity to air a fall installment of the popular summer reality show which was Big Brother 9 themed,”Till Death Do Us Part”( which was a great season by the way).
