Lamar Odom officially fired from Dallas Mavericks and leaving Immediately. According to a new report from TMZ, Lamar Odom has finally been fired from the Dallas Mavericks after his many screw ups there. I could see this one coming from a mile away. They say, Lamar released a statement today,which said, he’ll be stepping away from the team,and it’s effective immediately.

He also said, “I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.”

Lamar will leave the team asap,but will not be cut. Instead they’re just going to list him as “inactive” for the rest of the season,which means he could still be traded after the season. This year,Lamar has put up career low numbers,and hasn’t appeared motivated on the court. Read more »

Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Championship tonight convincingly. Earlier tonight, the Dallas Mavericks went head to head against the Miami Heat in Miami for game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals,and took home their first NBA Championship in convincing fashion with a score of 105-95.

In the first quarter, the Heat came out strong,and got an early 7 point lead on the Mavs,but the Mavs kept their poise,and eventually stormed back to get a 12 point lead,mostly due to their hot three-point shooting that never seem to fizzle.

Dirk Nowitzki was ice-cold in the first half,just shooting 1 of 12 from the field. However, his teammates picked up the slack,especially Jason Terry. He was red-hot the entire game. Really, everyone stepped up their play to take home the title. Jason Kidd knocked down a couple of three-pointers as did feisty point-guard JJ Barea. Read more »

Dallas Mavericks swept the Lakers out of the NBA playoffs tonight. Earlier tonight, the Dallas Mavericks whooped up on the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers some more with a score of 122-86 in game 4 of their series. Magick Johnson said he was shocked because this was the worst he’s ever seen the Lakers play in a game they needed to win.

Phil Jackson was numb to the whole thing. Kobe Bryant said Dallas’ spacing was good,and they shot the ball really well,so the credit totally goes to the Mavericks. Phil Jackson said “It was like the roof fell in on us.” Also, Phil Jackson has never been swept in 65 playoff appearances until tonight. Read more »

Dallas Mavericks trade Josh Howard & Drew Gooden to the Wizards. According to the Associated Press, the Dallas Mavericks just closed a deal today that traded forwards, Josh Howard and Drew Gooden over to the Washington Wizards . They say they traded them for Caron Butler,Brendan Haywood,guard DeShawn Stevenson,and cash considerations. It was a seven-player deal that is supposed to strengthen the Mavericks for a playoff run,and breaks up a not-so-good Wizards team.

Donnie Nelson who is Dallas’ President of basketball operations said it was an excruciating decision,but he couldn’t pass up the chance to bring Butler,a two-time All-Star onto the team. Read more »
