MTV news recently interviewed new and upcoming rapstar Drake,and they talked about what happened the night he re-injured his knee. He said he was so full of adrenaline that night,that he forgot he was injured at the time.

But he soon remembered again as we all know, when that knee buckled up on him again,causing him to collapse. Drake said it was “borderline more painful than the initial tear.”

He also went on to state what happened that lead up to the moment of his collapse on stage with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy,and Soulja Boy.

He said, “What the footage doesn’t show is that I actually came out of the sky that night.I was 20 feet in the air on a little platform. Philadelphia was the only sold-out show on the tour. 25,000 people. Read the rest of this entry »

Apparently Lil Wayne’s new protege Drake tore his ACL last month,and tried to perform onstage last night July 31,2009. While performing his hit song “Best I Ever Had” with Lil Wayne and the Young Money crew, he slipped and collapsed just seconds after it started, reports Access Hollywood.

There’s a reported Youtube video (below) of the incident that shows him being carried off stage while Lil Wayne finished the song by himself.

Blake confirmed that he’s doing good by tweeting on “Twitter”. He stated, “All is well.On the bus laying down… getting surgery this week but I’m walking.Thank my whole “Young Money” family for the help!” Read the rest of this entry »

For 2009,anyways. The Canadian born actor turned rapper Drake who has just signed with Lil Wayne’s label, has been honored by MTV’s Mixtape Daily as the 2009 best mixtape of the year . His mix tape “So Far Gone” which contains his hit “Best I Ever Had” has garnered praise from fans and peers like : Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Drake recently made a statement about the MTV Mixtape Award, saying, “I’m honored by the accolade given to me by Mixtape Daily and just by all the stuff that’s going on. In his new music video (below) release for his song “Best I Ever Had” from his third mixtape entitled “So Far Gone”. “Best I Ever Had” was produced by Boi-1da. The music video was shot in Brooklyn, New York at the Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School,and superstar rapper Kanye West directed it.

Trey Songz,Fabolous,Consequence, Lil Twist,Lil Chuckee,and Boi-1da made cameo appearances in the video. The video premiered on the internet on July 1,2009,and then premiered on television on July 2,2009 via AMTV. “Best I Ever Had” debuted at # 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts,and has since, peaked at # 3 on the charts. Rap superstar, Lil Wayne is reported to be going on tour this summer with three other superstars of rap, Soulja Boy,Young Jeezy, and his current popular,up and coming protege, Drake. Some of Lil Wayne’s people have confirmed that the tour is definitely going to happen.

Drake has also stated that if everyone’s schedules works out, he’s planning on going on a similar tour that would include : Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Young Jeezy. Also Soulja Boy tweeted about the upcoming “Lil Wayne”,Young Jeezy”,and “Drake” tour on his “Twitter” account, and told everybody to go ahead get their tickets, asap.
