Brandon Spikes gets suspended for deliberate eye gouging of an opponent,according to ABC news. Brandon Spikes is a star linebacker for the Florida Gators. They report that coach Urban Meyer has decided to suspend Brandon for the first half of Saturday’s upcoming game against Vanderbilt for his attempt at eye gouging the Georgia running back Washaun Ealey in their game this past Saturday.

Coach Meyer said Brandon did it in retaliation from getting his eye poked earlier in the game. Brandon is fourth on the team with 42 tackles and three sacks. The Florida Gators won the game convincingly with a whopping 41-17 beatdown over the Bulldogs. Read the rest of this entry »

According to ESPN, Tim Tebow, the Florida Gators’ Quarterback who was hit very hard last night,towards the end of the third quarter, was taken to the UK Medical Center by an ambulance. They report that coach Urban Meyer said in a postgame news conference, that it looks like a concussion,but that Tim is very tough and they’re praying for him.

He stated, “We’re going to find out more about Tim. We believe it is a concussion. He got hit pretty good, but that’s one tough cat. Our team will pray for him and he’ll be fine.” Tim’s parents came down from the stands and later joined him at the hospital. Tebow is going to be staying at the hospital overnight for observation. According to USA Today, The Florida Gators quarterback, Tim Tebow took a hard hit from the Wildcats’ defensive end, Taylor Wyndham with three minutes and 57 seconds left to go in the third quarter, tonight. Florida won the game 41-7. However, Tim Tebow laid flat and motionless on his back for a little while.
