New ‘Footloose’ movie delivered good drama,dancing,humor & more. The new Paramount Pictures, remake, joint “Footloose” hit theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and I thought it was done really well. What was surprising,is all the laughter it brought,which can be mostly attributed to actor Miles Teller who played character Willard. He spoke with thick, southern accent,and was a complete riot. The movie stars: Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Andie MacDowell, Dennis Quaid,and Miles Teller.

In the flick,a couple of teenagers got killed,driving home from a party one night,and it freaks the town of Bomont out so much that they decide to set a whole bunch of new laws,including no dancing or staying out late. From there, it fast-forwards three years,and character Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) moves into town from Boston,Massachusetts to stay with his uncle after his mother died. Paramount released 1st,new Julianne Hough ‘Footloose’ movie trailer. Paramount Pictures recently released the first,new movie trailer (below) for the upcoming “Footloose” remake movie with former “Dancing With The Stars” hottie Julianne Hough. The trailer looks ok,featuring lots of dancing action and drama. The movie stars: Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Andie MacDowell, Dennis Quaid,and Miles Teller.

The new flick will deliver a new take on the 1984 classic film, “Footloose.” Character Ren MacCormack is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. Read the rest of this entry »

Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford drops out of ‘Footloose’ remake movie. According to Entertainment Weekly , Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has pulled out of the “Footloose” remake movie a year after replacing Zac Efron as the lead male in the flick. They say Chace’s representative confirmed that he has pulled out of the movie because of a possible shooting schedule conflict.

CW’s Gossip girl wants to start filming season 4 this summer,but “Footloose” also wants to start filming this summer,and Chace can’t film them both at once,so he definitely decided to stick with his steady gig over the movie. Now, the studio will probably cast an unknown actor to play the part,and do a nationwide casting search for the role. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s official. Julianne Hough has beaten out top female actresses Miley Cyrus, Hayden Panettiere, and Amanda Bynes to claim the coveted prize of playing Ariel who is Ren McCormack’s (Chase Crawford) love interest in the new “Footloose” remake which is set to begin filming in March of 2010.

According to Variety, the casting will be contingent on scheduling details. Chase Crawford signed on to star as Rem McCormack a short month after Zac Efron stepped down from the role in March of 2009.

They are planning to have a more mature approach in this version of “FootLoose” than in the original one. Dylan Sellers, Kenny Ortega, Craig Zadan who is the producer of the original “Footloose”,and Neil Meron will be producing the film. Read the rest of this entry »

As most of you know by now, “Gossip Girl” star, Chase Crawford has replaced Zac Efron for the new ‘Footloose’ remake being produced by Paramount Pictures. Now, according to reports, Zac Efron stated in a recent interview, “I’ve always thought Footloose was a great project and Chase is an amazing choice,”’ .”I can’t wait to see it !”

Also Chase said in an interview that he knows Zac,and they are actually friends. He went on to state, “I know Zac and we’re actually friends.” He’s gotta make the best choice for his career at this point and I have to make the best for mine and luckily it worked out for both of us.” Read the rest of this entry »

Apparently now Miley Cyrus is getting in on the “Footloose” mix. Although she hasn’t tried out for the part mostly because she doesn’t need to since proving her musical abilities with Hannah Montanna fame. My sources say that the the studio has expressed interest in Miley to play the part of the leading lady Ariel Moore,and that she is definitely in the mix.

Previous stars that have been vying for the role are NBC Heroes star, Hayden Panettiere,Amanda Bynes from “What I Like About You”, and dancing with the stars dancing pro, Julianne Hough. They have all auditioned,and are waiting to hear back. I personally think that Miley actually fits the role in every aspect from the look to the musical ability. Read the rest of this entry »

Chase Crawford better known as Nate Archibald on CW’s hit show “Gossip Girl” has officially landed the lead role of Ren McCormack in the new “Footloose” remake movie. A role that was originally filled by “High School Musical” star Zac Efron. But do to some personal career issues, Zac decided to pull out of the role, midflight. So,now it is Chase Crawford filling his shoes. The movie will be directed and produced by Kenny Ortega who also worked on the “High School Musical” films.

I’m not really sure how good Chase Crawford will be in this role since his “Gossip Girl” character doesn’t really call for any dancing or singing abilities. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s been reported that Hayden Panettiere, co-star of NBC’s hit show “Heroes” ,and co-star of the upcoming comedy movie, “I Love You,Beth Cooper” has auditioned for the role of Ariel Moore in the “Footloose” remake which originally starred Kevin Bacon. Ariel Moore is character, Ren McCormack’s love interest in the movie.

My sources say that Hayden really impressed director, Kenny Ortega and others on the “Footloose” set when she did her singing audition for them. Apparently she’s a really good singer,and also had a pop single out last year entitled, “Wake Up Call”.Her next audition will be a dance audition which I’m sure she will most likely nail since she has a ton of experience in that arena as well.
