Original Actors Will Appear In The New Ghostbusters 3 Remake

Harold Ramis who wrote the first two “Ghostbusters” films recently told MTV that co-writers Bill Murray who played Dr. Peter Venkman and Dan Aykroyd who played Dr. Raymond Stantz in the original two Ghostbusters films, will definitely be making an appearance in the new third installment of the popular 1980′s franchise. Don’t worry though, there will be new young “Ghostbusters” ,but no names have been mentioned as to who will play them. Bill and Dan will be playing mentors to them. which I think will be an interesting plot . Jud Apatow is signed on to be the producer of the film.

There have been rumors circulating that comedians Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen could join the cast, but for now it’s just all speculation as far as they are concerned. This franchise was huge back in the day, and I think a remake could definitely draw huge box office numbers. It went on to spawn off a cartoon of the characters in the mid 1980′s which I watched religiously as an youngin.

Judd Apatow Productions To Bring ‘Ghostbusters 3′ Into Reality

Well, it looks like it’s almost official that there is going to be a Ghostbusters 3 movie, and for months Jud Apatow, who recently produced Adam Sandler’s new movie coming out in the summer entitled, “Funny People” had been rumored to be the producer of the resurrection of the 1980′s Ghostbusters’ Franchise. Now, it looks like it is really close to being a reality since Production weekly has started to mention it by stating that Apatow productions would be in charge.

There are no known names or actors for the new Ghostbusters’ film as of yet, but I can say that I would love to see this get done especially with all the new technological advances in film making since the 80′s when the first two Ghostbusters’ films were produced. I think it would be really interesting to see what they can do with it. If the film does get green lighted which I think it will, they will start shooting it in the fall of 2009. We’ll definitely keep you posted.
