According to an interview that Jackie Chan gave to 3news, “The Karate Kid” movie remake he’s been working on with Will Smith’s son, Jaden is going to have it’s named changed to the “Kung Fu Kid” or so they’re contemplating anyways. I’m not sure how much it will effect the ticket sales. I personally don’t care if they change the name, but that’s only because I know it’s a remake of the “Karate Kid”. However, the millions of other people who might not know, may hurt the film’s box office performance.

A name just isn’t a name in Hollywood. It’s hard to build up one, and when you do, you hold onto it. It’s how you’re recognized,and it’s definitely how this movie would be recognized. So I’m not sure that this would be the best decision.
