Michael Jackson “This Is It” movie delivered a great,up close look at MJ. Columbia Pictures released the new Michael Jackson documentary/film earlier this week. Along with Michael Jackson, it starred: Kenny Ortega, Travis Payne, Michael Bearden, Dorian Holley, Judith Hill, Orianthi, Tommy Organ, and, Bashiri Johnson.

The film showed up close, behind the scenes, footage, that was taken from over 100 hours of rehearsal footage. The rehearsal footage was from between March and June of this year. It showed interviews with the background dancers that were chosen to perform with Michael,and showed footage of their whole audition process.

It showed Michael performing some of his greatest hits like: Billy Jean,Thriller,Human Nature, Beat It, Smooth Criminal, and The Way You Make Me feel, to name a few. It showed how Michael is a perfectionist,wanting to practice everything until he got it right. It showed him working with a musician on a particular note,making sure he got it right.

It showed good,up close footage of him performing his great dance moves. I especially liked when they showed him performing to “Billy Jean.” It’s my all-time favorite. It showed some great footage of him working with his background dancers,showing them how to perform his classic dance moves.

Michael moved like he was still in his 20’s,hitting every move just as hard,if not harder than his younger dancers. They all stood and applauded when he did his solo “Billy Jean” performance for them.

It was a very enlightening and realistic look at how hard Michael worked to put on a good performance for his fans. I also liked watching Kenny Ortega work with Michael on particular songs,especially “Human Nature.” It was funny to see Kenny get his groove on.

Overall, I enjoyed the film. I think Kenny Ortega did a good job putting all the footage together into a nice neat package. I liked how they interviewed all the various dancers and singers,and showed Michael interacting with them. It’s a definite “must see” for any Michael Jackson fan,but I’m sure they probably already know that.

They told his sister, Latoya Jackson,and she thought it was wonderful. She stated, “Here? You’re kidding! Oh that’s gonna be wonderful,” La Toya told Access. “I’m so excited. I can’t wait to see that. I’m really looking forward to that. That’s gonna be fabulous.”

La Toya also said that her mother, Katherine Jackson would also be delighted to see it, when they asked her. She stated, “Are you kidding? I think she’d be very excited, very happy. She’d love to see it, love to see it,” she explained, saying her mom is a fan of the ABC show reality competition. “She watches it all the time. She loves it.”

La Toya also commented on Michael’s five 2009 American Music Award nominations. She stated, “I’m so excited. I’m so happy for him,” she told Access. “He deserves every bit of it and I certainly hope that he wins every last one of them.”

Michael Jackson’s new song “This Is It” (listen below) has been released this morning. It is the first single from Michael Jackson’s latest album,and it will accompany the upcoming Sony Picture’s Michael Jackson “This Is It” film, coming out in two weeks. “This Is It” will be the only new song on the album.

“This Is It” will be playing over the closing credits of the “This Is It” documentary/film, which will show footage drawn from over 100 hours of Michael rehearsing for his “would be” “This Is It” concert tour.

The footage was shot between April and June of this year when Michael worked with director and choreographer Kenny Ortega for the stage show. Ortega also directed the “This Is It” film. The Jackson brothers sing backup on the “This Is It” song.

Sony Pictures has announced that the “Michael Jackson : This Is It” movie tickets are now on sale, as of yesterday. The film is packed with over 100 hours of rehearsal footage when he was rehearsing at the Staples Center to get ready for his “This Is It” tour that was going to occur this past July,but unfortunately did not happen due to his untimely death.

The film will show his months of rehearsing from April to June of this year. It captures Michael singing,dancing,creating and perfecting his final show. It shows footage of him performing many of his best songs from the past and present.

The film is distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The movie’s release date is October 28,and will only play for two weeks. I’m not sure why,but that’s what they are saying.

Madonna, who’s a veteran of the MTV Video Music Awards, showed up for the 2009 version to pay tribute to the late :King of Pop,” Michael Jackson. She certainly did not disappoint,as she gave a very heartfelt speech,wearing a dark black zippered jacket and skirt.

In her speech (full video below), she commented on her and Michael’s dinner date that they had years ago,and stated how he was looking for friend rather than a romance. She talked about how her her kids imitate him,now,and how she was sadden by the fact that she lost touch with him over the years.

She stated how Michael never really had a childhood. She said he was one of the greatest talents the world has ever known. She said he felt his pain when the negative stories came out about him.

She said she watch many clips of him performing, to honor his memory. She concluded the speech by saying, “Yes, yes Michael Jackson was a human being, but dammit, he was a king. Long live the king.”

Janet Jackson gave a huge, incredible live performance (video below) at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards tonight to pay tribute to her “King Of Pop” brother, Michael Jackson who unfortunately passed away in June.

The performance started off with other dancers performing to Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller,” “Beat It,” “Smooth Criminal,” “Bad,” and then Janet came out to perform the last song entitled, “Scream,” which was a duet that her and Michael did a long time ago.

She performed it very well, dancing Michael’s moves to a tee, as a video of him played in the background,displaying how she nails every move. It was an awesome performance. Janet looked really intense afterwards,as she danced like a female Michael Jackson. She was definitely the best choice to do this. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

MTV debuted Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” movie trailer (below) tonight at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The film is a compilation of rehearsal footage that was recorded at the Staples Center where he was rehearsing for a concert tour over in London at the O2 arena.It was going to take pace this past July.

Unfortunately,due to his untimely death,the event never took place. The trailer shows amazing footage of his still sharp dancing skills,along with commentary from Michael and others,and a ton of behind the scenes footage.

The film was pulled from more than 100 hours of behind-the-scenes footage. The trailer shows snippets of live performances of classic tunes which consisted of : “Billie Jean,” “Smooth Criminal,” “Bad,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Man in the Mirror.”

According to Access Hollywood, Michal Jackson’s “This Is It” movie trailer is set to premiere at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday night. MTV has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment to exclusively premiere the official trailer for the film.

The Poster for the film (above) was released yesterday,and features Michael’s iconic silhouette,filled in with images from the film.

They report that “This Is It” is compiled with hours of rehearsal footage from Michael’s “This Is It” tour, which due to his unfortunate death,never took place. He had been rehearsing at the Staples Center for a 50-date tour,which was going to take place over in London’s 02 Arena this past July.

The actual film is set to hit theaters for a special two-week limited engagement on October 28,2009.

The MTV Video Music Awards airs this Sunday September 13,2009 at 8pm central time on MTV.

According to Access Hollywood, Sony has reportedly paid AEG Entertainment about $50 million dollars for the rights to the exclusive last Michael Jackson rehearsal footage.

Sony is planning to make a feature film from the “This Is It” tour rehearsal videos. Sony reportedly won the footage in a bidding war,and it consists of about 80 hours of footage.

They say the footage was originally meant to be played between songs during the concerts that were planned for Michael. They include multiple videos that were meant to play in 3-D,and one of them is an alternate version of “Thriller.”

“High School Musical” director Kenny Ortega is reported to be directing the Jackson film. He was also directing Michael Jackson’s tour. They say he’s already begun work on the film,and Sony is hoping to release it before the end of the year.

Also AEG is in the midst of closing a deal for the TV and video rights to Michael’s tribute concert on what would be his 51st birthday in London. Popstar Justin Timberlake is reported to be taking part in the show. He’s supposed to perform the same set list that Michael planned for his London shows. The tribute concert is scheduled for August 29,2009.

US today recently released unseen footage of the January 27,1984 incident where Michael Jackson burned his scalp while filming a Pepsi commercial. The video (below) shows when Michael did his first take,and the pyrotechnics went off as planned.By going off after he descended from the stairs. He then started singing,dancing,and everything was ok at that point.

Then the video cuts to the sixth take of the commercial,and this is where things go horribly wrong. The explosion goes off to early,and his hair catches on fire. He doesn’t realize it at first,and continues to descend down the stairs,and keeps dances. The crew on the set rush in,and stop Michael from dancing so they can put out the fire. He suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his face and scalp.

Seeing the video was crazy for me because I was only 7 yrs old when it originally happened,and I had never actually saw the footage of it. I remembered,being the cruel kids we were at the time. We would joke about it,saying it was because of his Jerry Curl,and all the chemicals it contains, caused his hair to ignite. Those were the days. Time sure does fly by. Michael will be missed.
