Episode 1,season 1 of CW’s “Vampire Diaries” aired last night. It was the pilot episode,and it started off pretty intense,with a scary vampire attack scene on a couple driving down the street.

After that, the show focused on Elena and her friends meeting Stefan for the first time after he enrolls in Elena’s school,thinking that he must meet her. Elena and Stefan get along quite well,but another girl named Caroline Forbes really likes him too.

Meanwhile, there’s killings going on in the town of Mystic Falls, which to the outside world,look like animal attacks. Stefan is blamed by his friend,Jeremy Gilbert for the attacks,as he knows he’s really a vampire.

Stefan and Elena continue to get along very well,but he does encounter situations that set off his vampire temptation with her,and things get a little awkward,but he’s able to cover it up. Eventually Stefan has to shoot down Caroline’s advances towards him,as he really likes Elena.

After another vampire attack occurs,Stefan comes to realize that his brother Damon is in town,and is committing the murders. After an intense argument and fight between the two, Damon pretty much says that he’s going to give Stefan a hard time particularly with Elena.

To cap off the show, a very let down Caroline gets a glowing smile from Damon at her party,and it appears as though she might be his next hunt. Meanwhile, Elena invites Stefan into her house for the first time.

I thought it was a good introduction,and the Damon character is really funny. He’ll make the show interesting.

Episode 1,season 5 of CW’s “Supernatural” aired tonight. It was entitled, “Sympathy for the Devil.” Overall it was an appropriate beginning to the season. It picked up right were it left off. Dean and Sam were standing right there at the broken seal as it started to open up.

Then all of a sudden, they were on a airplane, all dazed and confused. The next thing, the airplane was headed south as the light from the broken seal appeared to hit the plane.

I’m not to sure what happened after that, but apparently Dean and Sam were ok. They paid a visit to Chuck who is the prophet writer guy. He said he saw a vision of Sam’s eyes turning black when he killed Lilleth. Then the not so good Angels paid Dean and Sam a visit. Dean wasn’t very inviting,and used a trick Castiel taught him, to make their visit short.

Next, they were visited by an excited messenger girl who gave them a clue as to where they could find the Arc Angel Michael’s sword. Bobby explained that he apparently used this sword to knock Satan out of Heaven, so they really need to find it.

Unfortunately Bobby is secretly possessed by a demon,tells Sam off,and then an old demon enemy named Meg shows up to start some trouble. It almost ended with Bobby killing Dean,but he was able to fight the demon off.

Meanwhile, the whole time, Lucifer was circling his vessel,prepping him to get him to say yes to his possession proposal in which he eventually succeeds in doing.

Dean and Sam have one more not so good run-in with those not so good Angels,but low and behold, Castiel comes to their rescue and stifles there efforts to get Sam to say yes to release Michael the Arc Angel’s sword because they apparently revealed to Dean that he was the vessel for Michael’s sword.

I thought this episode was a nice little lead-in to the new season. However, I very much look forward to seeing it pick up more in the next,upcoming episodes.

Episode 1 season 1 of CW’s “Melrose” aired . The show was entitled, “Nightingale.” The premiere started off pretty suttle overall,but it did have some immediate drama. To start things off, David Breck gets into a heated argument with Sydney (Laura Leighton) after she calls him to her apartment.

The next morning she’s found dead in the pool by Violet Foster (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz). Some people are in a frenzy,some people aren’t. Meanwhile Jonah Miller is all upset because Riley Richmond who is his girlfriend didn’t immediately say yes to his marriage proposal.

Then, My favorite character so far, Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy) comes to David’s rescue by creating a false alibi for him because the police don’t believe his story that he didn’t kill Sydney.

Jonah tries to get a film deal with a big actor client named Jasper,but is unable to land a deal until he captures some footage of Jasper cheating on his wife. Also in Lauren Young neighborhood,played by Stephanie Jacobsen.

Lauren is an aspiring doctor,but doesn’t have enough tuition money to cover her schooling. She ends up sleeping with one of her dates for $5,000.

Michael Mancini also shows up to give his son, David Breck a ride somewhere,but they don’t get along very well, so it ends up being a very short ride. Jonah does finally get his wish of a “yes” answer from Riley for marriage.

To cap things off, character Auggie Kirkpatrick shows a little hint that he might have killed Sydney. If I had to guess,right now, I would say he did it. But one can never be to sure.

Overall, the show was interesting enough to make me tune in again. I think Katie Cassidy’s character, Ella Simms will really make this show work. She plays the Amanda Woodward type character that Heather Locklear played so well back in the 90’s.

I was kind of shocked that Sydney didn’t last longer on th show.I was like, “Wow, they took her right out.” Now she just appears in certain character’s memory sequences.

Tonight,Episode 1 of season 2 CW’s “90210″ began . The show was entitled “New Beginnings.” Let me just say some of the beginnings were good,and some were not so good,particularly in Annie’s case.

The “New Beginnings” episode showed that Naomi, Silver,and Adrianna are now the very best of friends,all of a sudden,while Annie is the total outcast.

Adrianna is baby free now, and Navid wants some bed action with her. Naomi has apparently been dating a much older guy,but eventually finds out he’s married with kids.

He tries to sell her some bull that it means nothing,but she didn’t bite. Naomi also has a crush on the new tennis guy,Teddy,but lets it fizzle out once she finds out that Adrianna used to date him.

Everyone thinks Annie slept with Liam,even her own brother, Dixon,so they have a falling out. Naomi continues to bully Annie,and she stays very depressed throughout the whole show.

Silver and Dixon get back together,for a little while,but then Dixon finds out that she had been texting Ethan,and breaks it off. But Silver still thinks she can get him back after having a cry over it.

A still, very depressed and isolated Annie takes solace in a high school senior who comes up and talks to her. They end up sleeping together,but his motives aren’t clean. He snaps a couple of photos of her naked.

Naomi gets a hold of the pictures from him after she hears him talking about it. Then, Naomi says it’s on. It looks like she’s going to bury Annie in a deeper hole than she’s already in.

I thought the show was excellent,and really kicked off with a totally different vibe than last year. I really feel that it’s going to be an even better season.

“Year One” starring Jack Black and Michael Cera made it’s debut this past weekend, Friday June 19,2009. I thought the movie was hilarious. Michael Cera’s onscreen chemistry with Jack Black kind of reminded me of his relationship with Jonah Hill’s in “Superbad” except in ancient times, of course. The general plot was that Jack Black’s character Zed had to leave their tribe for eating of the tree of “Good and Evil”.

Michael Cera’s character Oh followed behind him do to some unfortunate circumstances. They end up traveling the land after discovering that the world is indeed round,meet famous Bible figures, end up in Sodom where they are made guards and then made slaves. Then to conclude the story, they end up freeing all the slaves from the evil Sodom king with their silly wackiness. It had really hilarious moments which focused on spoofs from ancient Bible stories. It really made me laugh the whole time.

There were appearances from funny man David Cross who played Cain,Paul Rudd who played Abel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka McLovin from Superbad. He played Isaac son of Abraham in this film. He was really hilarious. It almost kind of reminded of an ancient “SuperBad” movie. I wish they could’ve gotten Jonah Hill to make an appearance. That would’ve been awesome.

I thought the storyline was ok,but that really didn’t matter quite as much since it was just more funny than anything else.It kind of got a little weird there at the end with a little moral story, but overall it was just a very funny movie. It probably won’t win any Oscars,but definitely, it is very funny.

Sam Raimi did a great job with this movie. It was truly frightening. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time,and that Mrs. Ganush was just truly,truly gross. In a brief synopsis of this film. Christine Brown played by the gorgeous Alison Lohman, is working hard to get a promotion at the bank she works at. One day, an old Gypsy type lady named Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) walks in,and asks Christine if she can please have a third extension on her mortgage because she’s been sick. It ends up being Christine’s call, after she talks to her manager. Feeling the pressure of wanting to get that promotion,she turns down Mrs. Ganush because it would lose the bank, money.

Mrs. Ganush doesn’t like that, so she eventually puts a curse of the Lamia on Christine after attacking her. Christine eventually goes to a seer named Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) with her boyfriend, Clay Dalton (Justin Long) after feeling the effects of the curse start to take hold. Rham Jas tells her the disturbing news, that she has three days,and then the Lamia will come and drag her to hell. After that, the movie is filled with a lot of “on the edge of your seat” moments that include the Lamia demon throwing Christine around in her house,eye balls showing up in her food, and a very dangerous seance which results in death for one of the participants.

Rham Jas does present her with one final option which she gladly takes in the end. But just when you think everything’s ok , somebody does end up getting dragged straight to bloody Hell.

The movie was excellent. It never had a boring moment. I loved all the actors. This was a different role than what I’m used to seeing Justin Long play. However, I haven’t really seen him play a role since that movie called “Accepted” back in 2006 so I’m probably not the best to comment on that. He does play the most loving boyfriend in the movie. It was insanely touching to see. And oh my gosh that Lorna Raver lady who played Mrs. Ganush did a great job. That was a wicked performance. One, I will truly never forget. The biting,choking,spit,mucus,and lashing out at people was just way “over the top” crazy. This movie will spook you,and keep you wide awake the entire time. If you’re a horror fan,this is a “must see” film

“Land of The Lost” which starred Will Ferrell as Dr. Rick Marshall was a funny movie that borderlined on corniness in some of the scenes,but overall it was funny.Will’s character is a scientist who’s come up with a theory on time warp,but nobody believes him especially Matt Lauer. He’s laughed out of the science world. And now three years later is forced to teach little kids. He’s convinced himself to give up on his theory until Holly Contrell walks in one day,and eventually convinces him to re-explore his theory.

Him,Holly,and a hill billy tour guide named Will Stanton get thrown back through time while testing his time warp machine. Once they are there,they face dangerous adventures along with a creature boy named Cha-Ka they meet upon arrival. Some of the dangerous foes they meet there are: Dinosaurs,and alien beings who want to steal Dr. Rick’s time warp machine. But eventually he is able to overcome all the obstacles by somehow befriending a Terrainasaurus Rex. It also has a nice little twist in the end which the fellas will definitely enjoy. It involves a dessert,and half dressed women. Loved it.

This movie was just ok for me. It almost seemed like more of a spoof on prehistoric times as it had a lot more comedy than danger in it. And even when there was danger,it was kind of hard to take it seriously. Will was funny as usual. Holly Contrell played by Anna Friel was hot. Danny McBride played Will Stanton, the hill billy tourist guide who was also pretty funny. Then Jorma Taccone played Cha-Ka the little monkey like creature they met while there. Overall the movie was funny,but it just had this sort of spoof feel to it which made it seem kind of corny at times. It’s a good movie for the family,though.

Alright I just got back from seeing the new “The Hangover” movie,and let me just say that it was definitely no let down. A brief synopsis of the film is that four guys, Phil Wenneck,Stu Price,Alan Garner, and Doug Billings take a trip to Las Vegas to have a bachelor party for the groom to be, Doug Billings. But an accidental spiking of their drinks apparently leads to one overly crazy night that they can’t remember the next day. Unfortunately for them, the repercussions are the same as they wake up to a torn up hotel sweet,chickens,a growling tiger,and a baby in the closet. Oh, and one other thing. They can’t find Doug who is to be married the next day.

They take one hilarious adventure through the town of Las Vegas in an attempt to retrace their steps in hopes of finding their lost groom. They face a lot of trouble along the way, that they are completely responsible for, but have no clue as to what they did. The eventually figure the whole thing out,but not without some extreme and funny tribulations. One of which includes a punch in the face from Mike Tyson who plays himself in the movie. He was apparently pissed about his tiger being stolen.

Bradley Cooper plays Phil, Ed Helms plays Stu,Zach Galifianakis plays Alan,and Justin Bartha plays Doug. They were all extremely hilarious in the film. Their on air chemistry was great. And I really like that Bradley Cooper guy. I’ve seen him in a couple of films here lately,and he always seems to play the real smooth character. Ed Helms played the uptight engaged dentist guy type. Zach was the borderline retard character,and Justin was of course Doug the “I’m in love fiance” character type with a little bit of “Funny” in him. It was a great film.

In this action packed film, Justin Chatwin plays Goku who is a martial arts master trained by his Grandpa Gohan (Randall Duk Kim). However, he’s bullied at school because he made a promise to his Grandpa that he would never fight anyone. While, not the most important part of the movie, it is entertaining to see the creative reasoning he uses to overcome the details of that promise to eventually kick those bullie’s butts. I just love that kinda stuff. Continuing on, his grandpa gives him one of the sacred seven “Dragonballs” as an 18th birthday present. He also teaches Goku to never forget who he is which turns out to be a very important piece of advice in the movie.

Lord Piccolo played by “Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s” James Martsters returns from banishment to reclaim the seven “Dragonballs”. Once all of them are collected,they will give the collector one wish. So Goku and his friends which consists of Bulma (Emmy Rossum), Master Roshi (Yun-Fat Chow),Yamcha (Joon Park) and occasionally his crush,Chi Chi (Jamie Chung) spend the majority of the movie trying to stop Piccolo from collecting the “Dragonballs”,and taking over Earth.

They are unfortunately unsuccessful in their attempts at keeping the seven “Dragonballs” out of the grasps of Piccolo due in part to his side kick,Mai and her devious magical glamour spell. However, Goku and friends do eventually catch up with Piccolo just before he is able to call upon the wishing dragon. But Goku must face one more very unknown,surprise enemy before he can defeat Piccolo. The enemy is himself. It turns out that within him is a huge dangerous beast which he is destined to transform into on his 18th birthday. When he transforms into him, he becomes very dangerous to everyone,but the Goku within is able to eventually overcome his dangerous inner beast by remembering who he really is. The very important lesson taught by his Grandpa Gohan.

My Take :While, not very successful at the box office, I thought this movie was highly entertaining with a lot of action,and high energy fight scenes which I personally love. It had a pretty good story,plot build up,and nice little twist there at the end.It also had a little comedy in it delivered by Joon Park’s character, Yamcha and Yun-Fat Chow as Master Roshi. the women in the movie were hotties. Heck,what more could you ask for. I enjoyed it.

In Obsessed Derek (Idris Elba) is a successful asset manager, married to Sharon (Beyonce Knowles),and has a little boy with her. One day he meets a new temp at work named Lisa (Ali Carter) on an elevator, and this is the beginning of of a downhill spiral for Derek as he’s just met a crazy lady. The downhill spiral is slow mind you,but definitely sure. She right off the bat, starts to play the game with the laughing,flirting,and asking around the office about Derek. Even though she knows he’s married it doesn’t stop her from taking it up a notch.

In one scene, she acts like she’s unhappy over a break up with an imaginary boyfriend to play on the sympathies of Derek. Then at the annual company Christmas party, is when she really uncomfortably unleashes her unhealthy attraction for him by pinning him up against a stall in the men’s restroom. Needles to say, after that, Derek,now knows he’s got a bit of a problem on his hands. She continually makes her advances towards him which include drugging him by putting something in his drink in order to seduce him, and then doing the unthinkable by trying to commit suicide – taking a whole bottle of prescription pills.

After this incident, Sharon finds out,and then this is the beginning of when all hell breaks loose. Lisa lays low for about three months,and then makes her return for the final showdown with Sharon. It’s one hell of a catfight ending with Sharon of course as the victor. It ended tragic,ugly,and with a lot of intensity. Obsessed was no let down when it came to bringing the drama.

My Take :I thought Ali Carter did a great job as the temptress. The build up of the movie was very good and suttle until it was ready to get down to the nitty gritty ala the “rest room grind scene”. I liked Jerry O’Connel’s character, Ben in the movie. He was pretty funny. The character of Derek played by Idris Elba was a good leading man for the film. While the plot wasn’t the most original, it entertained the hell out of me. I definitely recommend this movie if you like a good high intense drama.
