Top critics gave new Resident Evil 4 movie negative reviews so far. Screen Gems released their new action/thriller flick “Resident Evil 4: Afterlife” into theaters today, and the top movie critics don’t seem to be all that impressed with it so far. It appears that most of them were shut out from early screenings as only three critics have chimed in with their reviews at the moment.

It’s garnered only two C- ratings and a big fat D rating so far. Maybe that will turn around once the other critics chime in. Right now, it’s not lookin too good. The movie stars: Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe, Wentworth Miller, and Sienna Guillory.

Kim Newman from Empire gave it a C-. She stated, “What fun there is to be had is undermined by drab 3D, hacked-out dialogue and rehashed plots. This is real D, not a dodgy conversion job, but Anderson makes elementary mistakes with the process which suggest he got hold of James Cameron’s cameras but started shooting before he read the manuals properly.”

Phil Contrino at Boxoffice Magazine gave it another C- rating. He stated, “Unfortunately, the great 3D visuals are not backed up by a great story. Afterlife is a post-apocalyptic zombie flick featuring zombies that aren’t very terrifying and doom-and-gloom vibes that lack any real edge. Fans of the video games may get a kick out of watching star Milla Jovovich gun down hordes of zombies, but that kind of mass killing creates a detachment that leads to zero suspense.”

Roger Moore at the Orlando Sentinel gave it a very bad D rating. He said, “It’s a humorless movie of morphing zombies. They take on beastly attributes, phoned-in performances, and trite dialogue. “Resident Evil 4: Afterlife” is in theaters now. 1. I was almost jumping from his chair when I saw Wesker and Chris Redfield appeared. I am also a big fan of games, characters and personalities matched up perfectly between.

Kim Newman from Empire is male (with an impressive beard), but it’s an easy mistake to make.
