60 Minute’s Andy Rooney Sadly Died Yesterday At Age 92

60 Minute’s Andy Rooney sadly died yesterday at age 92. According to the Los Angeles Times, former CBS 60 Minute’s resident Andy Rooney past away yesterday,October 4th. He is survived by his four children Brian, Emily, Martha, and Ellen. Rooney’s wife of 62 years, Marguerite, died in 2004.

Rooney was hospitalized on October 25, 2011 after developing postoperative complications. He died about a month after his last appearance on 60 Minutes. The medical reason for the surgery has not been revealed, and his family asks that their privacy be respected at this time.

CBS announced the death of Rooney, who launched his long career during World War II as a correspondent for the Stars and Stripes military newspaper and continued to be a fixture on “60 Minutes” until he retired last month after 33 years.
