Legacies Season 2 Spoilers Are On The Way. Season 2 Is Officially Confirmed
Hey, fellow Legacies fans. We hope you guys enjoyed the big season 1 finale episode 16 tonight. We are so very happy to be able to officially tell you guys that season 1 was definitely good enough to earn a season 2 renewal order from The CW! It actually happened earlier this year way, way back at the end of January 2019.
They renewed it with a couple of other CW shows. They are: The Flash, Arrow, Riverdale, Supernatural, Supergirl, Black Lightning, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Charmed and Dynasty. If any of you guys like any of those shows, this is extra good news for you. I’m actually hoping they get around to renewing All-American for a season 2. It was so good, but it didn’t do well in the ratings. That’s how it goes sometimes.
Anyways, back to Legacies season 2 renewal talk, The president of The CW Mark Pedowitz made a very positive statement during the big renewal announcement. He stated, “This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday, which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers.
In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. We look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”
It’s currently not yet known how many episodes season 2 will feature. We’re certainly hoping The CW gives it a full 22 episode season. 6 episodes just seems like too small of a number for this show. I really did enjoy every episode. The tone and feel of it was just amazing. I love the girl that plays Hope, Danielle Rose Russell. I think she’s a really strong actress. The supporting cast is really great too.
Legacies season 1 ratings and viewership numbers held pretty steady throughout the season. It consistently drew in over a million viewers an episode. It only fell below a million viewers in four of its currently shown episodes. We’re still waiting for the results of the finale episode 16 which just aired tonight.
During it’s premiere episode 1, Legacies drew in 1.124 million viewers with a 0.29 ratings score for the 18 to 49 year old demographic. We saw that ratings score hold very steady all season and actually rise a bit. It scored a 0.30 for the most recent episode 15. That episode also drew in 1.002 million viewers.
That seems like fairly strong numbers for The CW network. Apparently, they were strong enough for The CW to give it another season. Thank God Legacies wasn’t on one of the bigger networks like NBC, CBS or ABC. They would cancel it in a heartbeat with those numbers.
Anyways, this great season 2 renewal news means there will absolutely be more Legacies news coming soon along with preview clips and photos and cast interviews. You know? All that good stuff. So, definitely be sure to stay tuned for it.
So, how do you guys feel about the new Legacies season 2 renewal? Are you ecstatic or what? Let us know in the comments.
