‘General Hospital’ January 22, 2020 Episode Delayed, Preempted In The USA

Hey, “General Hospital” fans. We are back to talk to you guys about some very bad news. It turns out that this very high profile President Donald Trump Impeachment trial has made its way back into your lives ,once again, by totally interrupting your beloved General Hospital soap opera.

It’s confirmed that ABC did indeed preempt/delay General Hospital today, January 22, 2020 to air LIVE coverage of the impeachment trials.

And from what we gathered from various fans on Twitter, they did this same thing yesterday, January 21, 2020. As of right now, we weren’t able to collect any official announcements from any of the ABC affiliate stations regarding how ABC will handle this issue, but it sounds like they’ll be playing a cat and mouse game like CBS is doing with their “Young And The Restless” and “Bold And The Beautiful”soap operas.

They’re promising to air them the next day, and then just preempting them again to cover the impeachment trials.

As for the impeachment trials, it appears that everyone was just giving opening statements. The messages we saw on our TV screen read like this, “House Managers Deliver Opening Statements” and “Rep. Adam Schiff Delivers Opening Arguments.”

We did get confirmation from a lot of angry fans on Twitter that General Hospital did get preempted in their area.

Kathy Caldwell @KathyCa28405925 hit up the popular social media site to write, “@abc13houston
I wanna watch General Hospital, I don’t have cable, WiFi etc. not this impeached fiasco!!!” You guys can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.

donacat @megalodonna wrote, “@GeneralHospital Why can’t you out it on demand and on line until this farce is over.” You can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.

Rose @RoseKellyPC wrote, “Does it make sense that GH gets pre empted but Judge Judy, Dr Phl, and the rest of the afternoon/Prime Time doesn’t? Same Trial is taking place.”

Bonnie Looi @tennisprincess2 @GenralHospital What??? 2nd day no episode… I guess its good bc still catching up 2 days behind since no new episodes since Mon!! #GH.” You guys can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.

Doreen Webb @DoreenW45912890 wrote,”@GeneralHospital abc running inside addition but no GH!” You can read that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.

I have to admit it’s always fun to read how angry these fans can get over missing their soap operas. I would tell you guys to probably expect more of this from ABC, especially if the impeachment coverage lasted as long as it did today.

If the impeachment trials start up again tomorrow morning or in the afternoon, you can pretty much bet ABC will cover it and preempt General Hospital again. All we can tell you is just to turn on your TV tomorrow and hope for the best.

Alright guys. That’s all we have for this latest “General Hospital” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.

I am an angry fan of GH. Air the trial in any time slot but this one. Send the corrupt POTUS to jail and put the story back on!

I’ve watched General Hospital since they started and to say I’m tired of missing the show cause you think you have to air the impeach mental trials is an understatement.!!!!!! Please put General Hospital back on.

To share the misery, ABC should alternate which shows are preempted… What? Not real time? Hell, the impeachment action moves slower that a soap opera. So what!! Consider redacting the Unimportant speeches….but there may be nothing left…..

Just found out that ABC plans start the GH series where they left off (1/21/2020) WHEN the impeachment proceedings conclude. We’ll see.

Why punish people watching daytime tv continue the trial at prime time tv also don’t you have enough news channels to go too without showing our soap operas

BOYCOTT ABC..We don’t give a RATS Pittuti about this trial. You are Punishing the people that do not have access to a computer. They’re all crooks in their own way. See how ABC feels when we STOP watching their Network..

Bunch of malarky! We taxpayers don’t care about all these lies dems and repubs are talking about. Same old same old over and over. We think all of you need to just give up and go home. You aren’t doing the taxpayers any good . Just spending several millions of social security monies to put this crap on tv. You weren’t voted in to office to spend your time portraying a soap opera. Go home!

Why can’t hey just run the show at 1:00 in the morning. We can all DVR it and watch on our time. This ridiculous impeachment trial is not even being watched by most of the people I know. They say the same thing over and over and over. This is wasting tax payers time and money, the government has become an embarrassment and ABC is embarrassing as well.

Give us another way to watch it, like on abc.com or utube for example. It’s ridiculous that this is not already being done!!

This holding are daytime shows makes no sense. if your gonna interrupt them, release them on line and to cable company so we can watch them at night. ABC is holding us hostage, punishing us it seems, cable company said ABC wont release them. This is crap ABC, . I pay cable for my channels to see my shows, and I expect to see them, even if I have to ruin my evening to watch them at night to catch up. cable company will not give us a credit. Yhis is a bunch aof crap…..ABC a BIG DISAPOINTMENT.

ABC has always been one of my favorite channels both for my daytime soaps as well as prime time. GH is the only soap that I have left and since DISH did away with Soap Opera Network (or whatever it was called back then) most of us have no other option for watching GH. There have to be tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of loyal GH fans out there that are really disappointed and totally fed up by the whole preempting thing no matter what our political views are. I am wondering since GH tends to follow our real-life timeline when you finally do put it back on what will happen? Will we be a week or more behind because real life has carried on but our beloved GH is still back where it left off? How will you get GH back up to date with us in the real world? Maybe you could show two a day until we are back in sync again? In the meantime though, I agree with others that there has to be a way to either put them online, watch them digitally or run them instead of an hours worth of infomercials or something to please all of us GH fans.
