‘General Hospital’ January 27, 2020 Episode Delayed, Preempted In The USA
Hey, “General Hospital” fans. We are back for another round of daily bad news for your favorite soap opera. We just got confirmation that ABC did indeed preempt/delay General Hospital for another 5th, straight day in the United States to air more LIVE coverage of the President Donald Trump impeachment trial.
We also got confirmation that ABC is still not uploading the preempted episodes to their ABC.com website or app.
It appears that ABC doesn’t currently have any plans to air the preempted episodes until the impeachment trial is completely over. Only God knows how long that will be. I’ve personally heard that the trial could last at least another week. So, that’s not good. However, what could be worse is that it lasts longer than another week.
During today’s impeachment trial coverage, we saw the following descriptions: “President Trump’s Defense Team Delivers Second Day Of Opening Arguments.” “Soon: Pres. Trump’s Defense Team To Resume Opening Arguments.” Hopefully, that means the trial is somewhere near close to ending, but who knows? We sure don’t.
Earlier today, the official General Hospital Twitter page tweeted a message, telling their fans to keep checking the General Hospital Twitter page for updates as to when new episodes of General Hospital will finally start airing again.
General Hospital @GeneralHospital wrote, “Check back throughout the day for updates on the return of new episodes. #GH.” You guys can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.
Some of their fans didn’t like this message, and they complained about only seeing a repeat episode. It appears that ABC had time to air a new episode today in certain time zones, but they opted to just run a repeat episode. Fans were really frustrated about that.
Twitter user Cat G. @Cat_T_Gross wrote, ” @Crystal_LaLey @GeneralHospital and @nathanvarni
Exactly! 2:00am is only reruns; Perfect time to put the new episodes on if the network can’t make use of their own app.
I’m losing interest in GH…their are many other good shows, networks, channels, apps, streaming, etc. I am interested in the trials, but I watch it on CNN!” You guys can view that tweet by Clicking Here.

Florenceblackman @florenc63232579 wrote, “@ABCNewsLive @GeneralHospital HOW DARE YOU NOT AIR THE TRUMP DEFENSE IN THE IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS!! INSTEAD YOU DON’T EVEN SHOW A CURRENT EPISODE BUT SHOW AN ENCORE PRESENTATION…AN OLD SHOW!!
YOU JUST SHOWED US THAT YOU ARE TAKING THE DEMOCRATS SIDE AND NOT OUR PRESIDENTS!!” You guys can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.
Allison @abellflower7 wrote, “Dear @ABCNetwork @nathanvarni or whoever else needs to see this, please let your long time, committed viewers watch @GeneralHospital in some way! We miss GH and want it back on our TV’s!!!!!!!!!!!” You guys can view that tweet by Clicking Here.
Donacat @megalodonna had actually replied to General Hospital’s message about checking back for updates. Here’s what she had to say to that. @GeneralHospital Check back for what? You don’t even acknowledge our tweets with any answers. I could care less.” You can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.
Rachel Sutton @RacheSutton101 wrote, “@Greenbay531 @PamPetrakos and 3 others. I think their plan from the get go was not to air #GH until after the impeachment hearings. So I don’t know what this “check back for updates” crap is all about.
#ABC doesn’t care about their daytime audience. The ratings are well-deserved & I hope it continues.” You guys can view that tweet on Twitter by Clicking Here.
As you guys can see, the anger and pain from General Hospital fans continues to poor in. So, you guys are not alone in your angst over what is happening right now.
I will tell you guys what I tell you everyday. Just keep turning on your TV everyday and hope for the best. That’s all we can tell you to do at the moment as ABC isn’t really providing any other options.

it makes no since to have an ABC app if your not making use of it. if people want to keep up with the trial let them use one of the many news networks.
Spelling and grammar in this update needs to be checked.
Not on again today and I don’t see any announcements on twitter or ABC or their facebook site. How long does it take to type a sentence saying it’s pre-empted again today…..or all week if they already know.
I’m turning off my PVR so it doesn’t record during GH’s time. Not giving any ratings to the trial if they can’t even give us notice when it’s cancelled.
The trial is on a gazillion news channels! There is NO reason to preempt General Hospital on ABC. Other Broadcast networks have stopped broadcasting the trial because they listened to the public! I don’t know why ABC can’t do the same!
I’m over channel 5. Done with you even if General Hospital comes back. That’s the only show I watch on that station anyway.
I’m over ABC – their greedy trying to compete with other channels. If we want to watch the impeachment trials I would also rather tune into CNN. How many networks need to cover the same thing! It’s obnoxious that you’d alienate your viewers for ratings….Ar least give us a way to watch what we WANT to watch instead of shoving things down our throat. Especially for those of us who do purchase apps just to be able to watch shows like GH without obnoxious pharmaceutical and cleaning product commercials. I think I’ll stop watching just because I’m frustrated with the network….and don’t want to add a dime to greedy networks who could care less about what their viewers want.
Back to the grammar issue – I meant They’re not Their….
