‘General Hospital’ April 10, 2020 New Episode Delayed. Not Airing Today

Hey, “General Hospital” fans. We unfortunately have some very bad news for you in this report. we have just been informed that starting last Friday April 3, 2020, ABC decided to start airing repeat episodes of General Hospital on every Friday until at least May 22, 2020!
That’s right, guys, and you have this crazy pandemic to thank for it. So, just to be perfectly clear, ABC will not be airing a new episode of General Hospital today, April 10, 2020.
The reason why is because the General Hospital production team is currently unable to film new episodes of General Hospital right now due to the set being shut down by the pandemic.
That leaves them with only the new episodes they shot prior to getting shut down. Once those new episodes are depleted, they will have no more new episodes to air. If they have no new episode to air, ABC would either have to air repeat episodes everyday or just take it off the air all together.
In an effort to at least halt this gloomy fate, they came up with this idea of airing a repeat/classic episode on every Friday until at least May 22, 2020. This will preserve new episodes they’ve already filmed, hopefully long enough for them to make it through these crazy times we’re experiencing.
We’re not sure how far out in advance that General Hospital films their episodes, but we’re guessing it could be around 2 to 3 months. If they can’t get back to work before then, things could get really scary for this soap opera.
The CBS soap operas: “The Bold And The Beautiful” and “The Young And The Restless” are dealing with the same situation and have also implemented this repeat episode on every Friday schedule as well.
They’re currently doing it for the entire month of April 2020 only, but we can definitely see that getting extended if they can’t get back to work in May 2020.
According to a recent report from the soapoperanetwork.com, each repeat episode of General hospital will feature an introduction from one of the General Hospital actors. They will highlight the episode.
The soapoperanetwork.com also revealed which General Hospital repeat episode ABC will be airing today, April 10, 2020.
It will be the one that originally aired way, way back on July 30, 2018. ABC’s official description for it reads like this,”Sonny (Maurice Benard) feels helpless as he tries to find out where Michael’s (Chad Duell) car is located, leaving Jordan (then played by Vinessa Antoine) to figure out what he and Chase (Josh Swickard) are up to, and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) worries about Franco (Roger Howarth).
Meanwhile, Kim (Tamara Braun) urges Julian (William deVry) to live in the moment and Jason (Steve Burton) arrives just in the knick-of-time.”
If any of you guys want to watch that repeat episode, you should watch ABC today as you normally would during that time. However,if you have no desire whatsoever to watch this repeat episode, you will definitely want to make some other arrangements as quick as you can.
With all that said, General Hospital will air a new episode this Monday April 13, 2020. It will pick up where Thursday’s April 9, 2020 episode left off.
So, just to recap, the current, new schedule for General Hospital until at least May 22,2020 is Monday through Thursdays. Fridays will feature the repeat episodes.
