New ‘The Bachelor’ 2021 Headliner Revealed By ABC

Hey, “Bachelor Nation” fans. We are back with another new article for you guys. In this one, we’re going to be letting you know who ABC has selected to be the next, new Bachelor headliner for their upcoming season 25, which we hope and pray to God will air at some point in 2021.

We honestly don’t know what the TV schedule is for The Bachelor ,right now, because they’ve had to push back The Bachelorette to the winter 2021 due to this terrible pandemic situation. The Bachelor usually airs in the winter.

Anyways, we have learned from the folks over at TV Line that ABC has selected a totally new guy to be The Bachelor for season 25. His name is Matt James, and he’s 28 years old. What they’re making a big deal out of is that he’s African American.

Yep, that’s right, guys. ABC has finally decided to throw some diversity into the mix in regards to who they will have headlining The Bachelor. They already did it with The Bachelorette. So, we new it was just a matter of time before they did it with The Bachelor.

Matt had actually been cast to be on Clare Crawley’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette, but they went ahead and decided to have him just headline The Bachelor. He’s a real estate broker, entrepreneur and community organization founder.

The president of ABC Entertainment Karey Burke revealed that they had Matt on their radar to be the new Bachelor since February 2020 when producers approached him to be on Clare’s season.

Karey stated, “Matt has been on our radar since February, when producers first approached him to join Bachelor Nation as part of Clare’s season. When filming couldn’t move forward as planned, we were given the benefit of time to get to know Matt and all agreed he would make a perfect Bachelor.”

Karey went on to explain that they are trying to be more diverse and feature a more realistic version of the world stating, “We know we have a responsibility to make sure the love stories we’re seeing on-screen are representative of the world we live in, and we are proudly in service to our audience.

This is just the beginning, and we will continue to take action with regard to diversity issues on this franchise. We feel so privileged to have Matt as our first Black Bachelor and we cannot wait to embark on this journey with him.”

TV Line went onto mention that former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay had recently complained about how The Bachelor Nation franchise was still lacking diversity even after she became the first African American woman to headline The Bachelorette.

Lindsay stated,”I wanted to be a trailblazer in this franchise to diversify the lead role. But nearly four years later, we still don’t have the diversity that this show needs, and that our audience deserves.”

Matt commented on headlining the upcoming Bachelor season 25. When it comes to diversity, he thinks his casting is a step in the right direction.

He explained, “I think it’s a step in the right direction. When Rachel speaks, we listen. She has a very important voice in all of this, being the first Black Bachelorette. So, I think we’re all following suit in that conversation, and hopefully, this is the first of many Black men to be in the position that I’m at now.”

TV Line updated their article with a statement from the executive producers of The Bachelor. In this statement, they addressed the issue of their lack of diversification and said they are working towards expanding it moving forward.

Their statement reads like this, “We are excited to move forward with both Matt James as the new Bachelor and Clare Crawley as our next Bachelorette. We acknowledge our responsibility for the lack of representation of people of color on our franchise and pledge to make significant changes to address this issue moving forward.

We are taking positive steps to expand diversity in our cast, in our staff, and most importantly, in the relationships that we show on television. We can and will do better to reflect the world around us and show all of its beautiful love stories.”

As we mentioned earlier,we have no earthly idea when the new Bachelor season 25 will air. If we had to guess, right now, we would have to say that it’ll probably end up switching places with The Bachelorette’s old summer schedule.

We know for a fact that ABC plans to air The Bachelorette this winter 2021. So, it makes sense that they would just air The Bachelor in the Summer, but we’ll have to wait and see. They might have a unique plane we don’t know about. We’ll let you guys know once ABC makes an official announcement.

Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “The Bachelor” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
