‘Snowpiercer’ Season 1, July 12, 2020 Episodes 9 & 10 Are The Finale. Renewed For Season 2

Hey, “Snowpiercer” fans. We are back this week to let you guys know that tonight’s new episodes 9 and 10 will indeed be the last episodes for Snowpiercer’s current season 1. Yep, that’s right, guys. TNT only gave it a 10 episode order for its first season.

TNT decided to just group episodes 9 and 10 together on one, single night. We’re not sure why, especially considering the strong viewership numbers it pulled in for a cable show.

We would’ve thought they would want to stretch it out for another week to get some more advertising dollars. Oh well. Maybe they have something else they want to show in that time slot.

We do have some good news for Snowpiercer. It has indeed been renewed for a brand new season 2! According to the folks over at TV Line ,TNT had so much confidence in this show that they actually renewed it for a new season 2 over a year ago back in May 2019!

That’s right, guys. Snowpiercer got renewed for a new season 2 well before season 1 even premiered! So, that is definitely something special.

Currently, we don’t know how many episodes season 2 will feature. With the state of the world right now, we’re just hoping they’ll even be able to film season 2. This pandemic has just totally ruined the TV and film industry for the past couple of months.

Anyways, let’s take an exact look at how Snowpiercer did in the ratings for its first season 1. It averaged 1.250 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.32 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

The latest episode 8 that aired last Sunday night, July 5, 2020, brought in 1.140 million LIVE viewers and a 0.31 ratings score.

The most-watched episode was the premiere episode 1 with 1.935 million LIVE viewers. The least-watched episode was episode 6 with 965,000 LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.47 score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 6 with a 0.25 score.

Those viewership numbers look great for a cable show. We think the ratings could’ve been a little higher. Judging from those viewership numbers, TNT had some good foresight for how it would do.

Actually, we just got some new information in for season 2 from the folks over at digitalspy.com.

They’re reporting that season 2 has already been filmed. They were able to get it all wrapped up just before the pandemic hit. However, the pandemic could still effect the post-production work. So, there could still be some delays.

Brett Weitz who is the general manager for TBS and TNT had wonderful things to say about Snowpiercer. He stated, “Snowpiercer is the perfect show to kick-off TBS’ entry into dramas with intricate storytelling, stunning visuals and first-class acting.

We believe in the longevity of this series and that audiences will be amazed by the fantastical world that brings to life such relevant social, political and environmental issues.”

Again, the finale episodes 9 and 10 of Snowpiercer’s current season 1 are due to air tonight, July 12, 2020, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time on TNT.

Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “Snowpiercer” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
