Big Sky Season 1, May 18, 2021 Episode 16 Is The Finale. Season 2 Is Happening

Hey, “Big Sky” fans. We are back in action on another Tuesday night to talk with you about your favorite new ABC drama Big Sky. We’ve got a couple of important things to share in regards to Big Sky. One of the things isn’t so great, and the other thing is absolutely terrific.

We’ll start with the not-so-great thing first. It turns out that tonight’s episode 16 of Big Sky’s first, premiere season 1 is indeed the last episode for the season. That’s right, guys. Episode 16 was the season 1 finale episode. That means you guys won’t get to see another new episode for at least a couple of months, and that leads us right into the good news.

The good news is that you will get to see more new episodes of Big Sky in the future because the folks over at ABC did give it a brand new, season 2 renewal order! That’s right, guys. You’re officially going to get another set of brand new, Big Sky episodes blasted at you in the future.

Currently, we’re not sure how many episodes season 2 will get or when it will debut. We’re going to have to wait until later this Summer for ABC to reveal that very important intel.

According to the folks over at Variety.com, this Big Sky season 2 announcement took place earlier this month on May 4, 2021. They also said that the executive producer Elwood Reid is going to take over the showrunner spot for Big Sky season 2 from the series creator David E. Kelley.

Elwood Reid’s past credits include working on shows like The Chi, The Bridge, Hawaii Five-O and Barkskins. That’s probably not the most important or exciting news, but we went ahead and pitched it in there anyways just in case someone out there thought it was important.

Variety pointed out that in addition to Big Sky, ABC also renewed The Good Doctor, “A Million Little Things,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Rebel,” “Station 19” and “The Rookie” for brand new seasons. If any of you guys are fans of those shows, that’s some extra good news for you.

Big Sky’s current season 1 averaged 3.551 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.55 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 15, which aired last Tuesday night, May 11,2021, drew in 2.632 million LIVE viewers and a 0.38 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was episode 2 with 4.462 million LIVE viewers. The least-watched episode was episode 14 with 2.623 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episodes were episode 2 and 3. They tied with a 0.70 ratings score.

The lowest-rated episode was episode 13 with a 0.37 ratings score. It appears that after taking that long, two-month break in February 2021, the numbers really declined. Hopefully, they won’t stay that low in season 2 or that could very well be the last season.
